GOOD NEWS!!
This just in over the wires coming to you from BBC live. And update on the war effort. In late 1938 British morale was high and troops were ready. General Churchill gave the go-ahead order to crush italians in africa after an unprovoked attack on Yugoslavia.. So the order was given,
Led by general auchinleck the british mobile forces quickly broke through italian lines and raced non stop towards tripoli rounding up demoralized italian soldiers with there hearts elsewhere. Ethiopia was also siezed, without a shot being fired.
AIR AND NAVAL WAR OVER SICILY
Hundreds of French and UK Interceptors battled for months in a 400 mile corridor. As the Allied fleets moved in on the italian navy, italian bombers began to harass our brave sailors. This would prove to be there own undoing as the Italian air force had there bum handed to them after 2 months. Brave pilots those italians were, flying to there own deaths, no match for our hero's in the sky. There efforts were futile and the kings fleet gained complete control of the Sea. All but a small area of the adriatic, which held the shattered remnants of the once mighty italian fleet; Now just a damaged Battleship with a handful of ageing warships around it.
FRANCE FALLS
It is regrettable France had to fall. Churchill had sent 22 Divisions to reinforce france. Unfortunately they arrived to late and the troops were evacuated, then the transports used to evacuate the best french troops. An entire 15 crack French divisions are in Southern England ready to go back to there occupied homeland. Its only a matter of time friends....
LULL IN FIGHTING
In the last 5 months of 1939 there isnt much to report. 11 British warplane squadrons gained complete control of zones of france as an experiment for a possible future offensive, almost untryed by german pilots and flak.
