Hey i was just wondering what are the experience of players, playing the 38 scen. with even players. Ger, Jap, Ita, UK, USA, sovjet who will win. is it balanced or is there a tendency to one side will win.

I have played some mp games with this 6 player setup and axis won all the games.

I'm in two long-running 38 campaigns which I think of as the Saturday game and the Monday game. They are now in 1945 and 1947 and it seems that both games will result in a proper fight to the finish. In the later game, the Allies have a narrow VP lead over the Axis who are slowly retreating back into Festung Europa. In the other game, the Axis have a much stronger VP position but perhaps have weaker prospects.

The 1.3 version of the 38 scenario is being amended in many ways but the overall effect should be to maintain a similar level of balance. Suggestions are welcome.

Well interesting.
I would however claim the Allies to be stronger then the Axis,
at least if playing a 1936, who we always do.
For this reas0n have we made a few rules to ecualise the balance slightly.

1938 scenario is not just a time-progressed 1936, though. Some of the things with the setup are tweaked (Italy is on a different doctrinal track, I believe).

the 38 Scenario is the only possible game for multiplayer purposes. Tweaked for gamebalance. ( as for the recent change in italian naval and land doctrines as well as lowering the quality of italian troops).

The 36 Scenario (apart from taking to frigging long to play for people with lives outside of playing PC games) makes USSR almost impossible to beat if you dont have a long list of houserules.

My impression from my limited experience with MP and the 38 scenario is that Axis have the advantage in the beginning (they are setting the stage for war. Axis act, allies react).
But, if the axis warmachine fails to make good on the early advantages, and USSR is played by a skilled player who manages to withstand the first years of barbarossa, then Axis will be in a world of pain.

Mimicks history good enugh for me
