I was wondering should I write an AAR about this gem of a war. Me, my best friend and his brother decided to play a game. We chose the Blitzkrieg scenario. They wanted a challenge so they gave me Germany and they took Britain and America. I told them somebody really should be the Soviet Union because if I managed to defeat them it would be pretty much over.

Since this was my first time playing this particular scenario I wasn't really sure who I was at war with and who I wasn't. I really should have looked closer because I was at war with the allies and Poland already :(

I acted quickly to save some bleeding as they both pressured me from France and Britain kept landing all over by sea. I repulsed each and every attack and I knew I needed to open the second front on France fast, so I got them in my alliance. That did the trick as I noticed France's incursions slowed dramatically, while the British decided to land and co-ordinate with France.

Meanwhile I was killing Poland with extreme prejudice. I annexed Poland, sighed the molotov treaty, and switched priorities to France. Just in time too, as they got Belgium and the Netherlands into the fray. I gave up quite a bit ground to Belgium before I got my panzers over there and cut them off.

I heard some moaning on the phone, we were on three way, when I noticed Italy was actually doing a little damage. Since I knew he was watching the South really well, I quickly consolidated the Netherlands and pacified Belgium. Then came the hammer. Britain, realizing the grave peril he and France was in pulled, I'm guessing the majority of his troops, off of Britain and put them at the border, but too late as I had already flanked them. By the time they both could reorganize I was sipping wine in Paris.

The whole while America was awaiting it's WE to ignite and was supplying Britain with its entire tech and supplies.

The vichy event fired off and all I could hear on the phone was a collective sigh of disbelief.

Since I knew that Britain was still trying to get his shit in one sock I launched on the Soviet Union, when my troops were relocated of course. Went really well as I didn't waste the valuable manpower and time in adding brigades I was able to muster about 36 panzer divisions among some mechanized units, in which I focused on the South and took wide angles so as I could encircle them.

The plan worked really really well as I destroyed, in one battle alone 42 divisions and 25 in the next subsequent battle. This was the deathblow as Russia sent troops from the North down south I used the newly made panzers along with the Northern divisions to encircle more divisions, but on a smaller scale.

I had all the providence’s to trigger the "bitter peace" event but it didn't fire, just as I needed it too. America entered the war and my friend was able to finagle Turkey, Greece and Finland to dow me. I was sending tanks south to protect the newly acquired oil fields, then sending mechanized units to help in the Balkans which was turning into a bloody mess, as my allies Bulgaria and Romania were slowly being annihilated by British landings, with Turk and Greek help.

I looked at the overall map and saw all of Southern Italy up to Roma occupied, and Southern France was being liberated. Everything behind me was crumbling and the Soviets were still fighting me. I knew I had to do something and do it fast. I started persuading Yugoslavia and Persia and to my delight got Yugoslavia to join me. Just in time too as Bulgaria was almost occupied and Romanian troops were being pushed back everywhere. I got Japan into my alliance, defeated the Soviets a few more times and finally the bitter peace event fired.

With the fall of the Soviets I swung all but a minimal defense force back towards three places, France, Finland and Italy.

Finland capitulated fairly easily, as they were an island by themselves and could receive very little help. I puppeted them and left 10 divisions to help defend.

I slowly pushed the allies out of France and Italy, but Turkey was proving a tough nut to crack, simply because Britain and America had bolstered it's defense.

I sent probably half of my armored divisions into the Balkans and pushed through there, and once American troops were threatened of being cut off, they all pulled out into the ME area. I was able to puppet Turkey and gained access to at least 15 much needed divisions

That’s where we are at now, we will pick it back up tonight, but little do they know my Manpower is killing me as its under 100 and I am constantly defending France and Italy from American and British probes.

I think I am doomed once they establish a beachhead somewhere.

Good report. What's an ME area? "Military Enhanced"?

How did you play such a great game with the dehibilitating sincronization problem? What speed level did you set the game to? I hope you continue this report after tonight's game.

Great game:D
Could i have some numbers plz. how big airfoce did you have during Barbarossa?
How many div. was tied up at France and western Europe during Barbarossa? And how many did you have against SU?
How many div. does Italy has left?
What about Africa?

Im playing an MP game almost similar to you so im just wondering...

Middle East, America had pulled back into Iraq and the former Vichy areas.

I was the host, and they live less than 5 miles away, so usually there is very minimal lag. We started out on below normal, but as the game was running VERY smoothly I moved it up a notch.

We played for the better part of a day and only crashed 3-4 times. Once after the Vichy event, and one shortly after the "Bitter Peace." The game only crashed once or twice more throughout.

I had the default amount of airforce, with the exception of making an additional 12 fighter divisions that were deployed in the lowlands and Southern France. I also reorganized my airforce to maximize damage.

How many div. was tied up at France and western Europe during Barbarossa?

My allies were the majority of the defensive works on the French front, I added about 18-20 infantry divisions along the border. I also had 6 fast panzer divisions to act as a fire brigade posted around Normandy, which it worked surprisingly well.

And how many did you have against SU?

I can't remember off hand the exact, but I do know I had 36 panzer divisions along with 18 mechanized units when Barbarossa started, I know this because that’s usually my magic number to hit Russia with. I probably had around 60 Infantry divisions.

My main thrust came from Lwow, from which I poured all 36 tank divisions in and used mechanized to follow up to hold until infantry could catch up. This worked far better than I could have imagined. I held my panzers behind to simulate what I do to humans, as they won't see the tanks until I have already hit them.

Sorry about posting before I answered all your questions.

Italy has taken a serious beating and only has about 28 infantry divisions, and is making militia units. I am now supplying him with coal, steel and oil to help him out.

His Navy is still strong, along with his Airforce.

Africa is a lost cause for now, until we can slow the tide of America or Japan gets to thumping America and Britain, that’s going to be my dagger. I would be willing to bet that Britain is suffering serious manpower shortages as well. The fall of France alone I know I took out 20+ British divisions in the Paris pocket.

I am currently building a Navy to attempt a landing on Britain;)
