Would any of the Nordic countries be playable then...
I assume that a lot of people in Scandinavia was heathen, the Kings may have adopted the new faith but I doubt that the majority of the people had.
Maybe there should be a greater chance for rebels and upheavals in Scandinavia?
 
Thanks for all the responses, although finding out that Venice and Genoa (merchant republics I assume) aren't playable is a little disappointing. I'm still definately buying this game!:)
