Shit, that's in historical setup, not the event.
If Temujin is alive, but invasion starts dynamically, e.g. 1210 start, he gets the same event troops as everyone else.
But after 1220.2.1, he gets "historical troops".

That's a bug.

huh, I always thought it's for balance cos 1220 Temujin starts out in a better position overall. The AI, being stupid, always seem to do better from the 1220 start

besides, 60k attrition-less trooops at least gives the Khwarizmsmsm a little chance to win...

Might make sense to give the AI some attrition-less troops for that event, seeing as Paradox is never going to make the AI consider attrition (properly). It's mostly an annoyance for players in the end to have to deal with attrition-less doomstacks, but Paradox seems overtly fond of that as a... mechanic.

Here's what I did:
Temujin gets ~90k troops with 25% attrition. (by 1240 this gets cut down to about 40)
Invasion target switched to k_khorasan instead of k_persia.
Nomad instability will not trigger for temujin and his sons.
Original invasion now uses correct CB (nomad invasion instead of tribal invasion).
Temujin and his sons will prefer nomad invasion (kingdoms) instead of nomad expansion (duchies). Temujin has a factor 10, sons have a factor 2.
Mongol Empire can use nomad invasion with 50% of available population instead of the usual 75%.
Aztecs get 500 prestige on start. (since this defaults to off, they should be aggressive).
Characters with dreams of conquest trait (AI only) will prefer invasion type CBs.
Dreams of conquest trait provides a bigger health boost.
Reduced invasion CB truce from 10 years to 5 years.

Because Ilkhanate/ didn't happen for temujin's son. Empire was properly inherited without partitioning which only happened later.

depends, right off the bat Chagatai for example seems to be recognized as first khan of the Chagatai https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chagatai_Khanate

But more importantly, would you guys be adding in this partitioning then?

Pity really, I had a submod all lined up that spawns the Ilkhanate/Golden Horde nicely, but it depends on nomad instability upon Temujin's death
