Well...dang it.
I had lucked out so far...and now I've fallen victim to my first serious bug.
I mean, I saw all the screenshots of bugs in the other thread, but some of those are just slight annoyances...like sometimes the players hair appearing through a helmet in barbershop or something. But, other than issues trying to manually save and sometimes it seems like the manual save is gone (but the autosave is usually there, so I only lose a few months or so), I haven't had a problem until TONIGHT.
It was in December 1367, actually had a kingdom (only second time managing that)...and the game just crashes and goes back to the main Xbox menu. I tried starting again, same thing. I tried restarting the Xbox, same thing. Seriously!? So, I guess that's the end of the game??
Dang. Now it gets into the tough decision, do I dare start another game? What's the point if, when I finally start doing stuff where I have armies, gold, titles, a kingdom, etc...the game will just randomly crash? Will it get fixed? Are they working on it? Any ETA?
I've been playing Stellaris for years...rarely ever crashes. So, I gotta think Paradox has the intelligence and ingenuity to fix this. Games like this its even worse because of the hours and hours you put into them. And its not a hardware issue! I have the Xbox X Series...new, well-maintained. And PS5 players are having the problem too...so its not a Xbox versus PS5 issue.
At this point, the best suggestion I have is send folks in this forum an email with some kind of, "Hey, noticed your game crashed. Just letting you know we're working on it. It may take 2-3 weeks or 2-3 months...but we'll send you an email when a patch is available." Is that too much to ask?
