Having problems with random CTDs. Playing mp with a friend and the game will randomly CTD after between 4-40 mins of play. From what I can tell there is no certain event that I can see that happens before the crash. Happend at war at peace during events when I'm trying to marry off a relative, hell it even crashed once when I was doing nothing and afk. I've trying re-installing, did the manual uninstall, changed the avi folder to avi_back turned down my color to 16 bit turned up my virtual mem, anything that I read here but nothing. The odd thing is that my buddy that I'm playing with has crashed maybe twice while i've crashed 30-40 times by now.

Here are my specs
amd 1600+
512 ddr
80 gig samsung
128 MB Geforce 3 Ti 200 pro
soundblaster live 5.1

Is a good game but it would be an even better game if I could play for more then an hour with out it crashing.
 
Is this only when you play MP, SP runs fine or very few Crashs?
 
Please run a DirectX Diagnostic:
Start menu –Run - then type Dxdiag, then select each tab across the top of the window, and run the tests on each tab. Then select “Save All Information” button in the lower right of the window. This will bring up a dialog box to allow you to select a name for the file where the information will be saved. You can save it right on the desktop as this will make it easy to find. Then copy the contents of that file from the start to the heading that says “DirectX components” then paste what you have copied into a post in this thread.

I strongly suspect your problem is the VIA drivers, they are known to be buggy. :(
 
Revert back to Win98 and use the Windows native drivers that are not available for XP.

You may have better results with a later version of the drivers.

Not really much I can do for you though. :(
