So... apart from not having the money to buy EU2 why should anyone still play EU?

I have nothing agaist the game - I bought it to offer to someone but ended up opening the box and playing it myself because it looked (as was) so great a couple of years ago.. (ho, I still offered the game)
But now, with that super-patch called EU2 I see no reason for anyone to play this anymore.

Anyway, I'm stupid so there must be 100 reasons
Please do tell me what they are.
