Widescreen resolution (1680x1050), how?

Hello Everyone,

I used to play this goldie on my old CRT monitor back in the day. I missed those times and i bought Victoria Complete from GamersGate. I have no idea how to set widescreen resolution (1680x1050) in game (no options!) and there is no such choice when i run Victoria_Settings application in game folder. I don't know even if it is possible. Enlighten me please... Thanks forward.

There are certain exe hacks that can accomplish what you seek, but I tried them, and they didn't work (gave me a 30 pixel wide textured banner on the right.) But I am lucky enough to have a monitor that can switch between widescreen and 4:3 resolution, so I just play it in 4:3.

But just search Widescreen Victoria paradox on google and you will find the relevant thread on this forum.

I googled for a solution as you suggested. There are some solutions in old threads on the subject. I tried them. It didn't work and game crashed everytime. Not a big problem. I am gonna play on default settings.

Did you set windows to 16bit ? All eu2 engine game work on 16bits...

How is it possible on windows 7 to change 16 bit option. i Cannot find it .

It is impossible, Win7 works only on 32 and 64 bit.

So Victoria1 and EU2 cannot been played without a black screen which came every 2 or 3 second. It s hard for eyes!!
Or is that another problem?

That's another problem.

I play on windows 7 at 32 bits with the original game resolution and suffer no blinking.

ok thanks, thats strange i have this problem with EU2 and victoria but not with eu3 or victoria 2.
that s boring...
