I just bought a new laptop with a 15.4 inch widescreen lcd monitor and would just like to know if DD supports widescreen resolutions in any way? Same goes for EU2. First games I installed on it, heh.

Officially, no. The game only supports one resolution: 1024 x 768. All the skins and artwork are designed for that resolution, and only that resolution.

If you run your screen at its native resolution, then you can run DD in a window so that it's running at 1:1, pixel for pixel. See my sig for details of how to enable windowed mode.
