Why was the WIF mod withdrawn?
Background: October 20, 2011: FT gave me permission to take WIF into the new DH map.
Early December, WIF in the new DH map was posted here on the forum.
It had taken almost 2 months of 12-16 hour days of work to complete the task.
I had the time, as I was(am still) unemployed. I learnt lots and enjoyed the full-on commitment
to a single task. When the job was completed, I felt I had achieved something.
I hoped then to develop the mod further, but FT informed me that DH was actually WIF, which I wasn't aware of, so what was the point?
Why he didn't tell me this before I did all of this work, I don't know. But if left me with a feeling,
that I'd wasted my time. BUT again, thinking positively, I still felt there was enough of a difference there to continue, and ignored my doubts about FT.
Christmas was approaching. I didn't have any money for my family to enjoy a normal Christmas.
I looked at the time I was spending on WIF, and not on my Java course or looking for a job, and decided
I needed to let WIF go, and concentrate on doing my Java, and looking for work.
Coincidentally I saw a job and went after it. I've since passed the first (hardest) interview stage, and
hope to proceed back into full-time employment soon; OR totally commit to my Java course and get even more
qualifications (already B.A., M.Sc.), and get a job doing Java.
500 people a day are emigrating from Ireland, because there is no work. I'm sure I don't have to tell you why.
Either way, I don't have time anymore to take WIF forward. I posted this on the forum.
In the meantime, and especially yesterday, I have continued to post my opinions on the forum. IMO, FT keeps bringing up WIF when I disagree with him. Why? I don't know. WIF is past tense as far as I am concerned. When he keeps referring to WIF, I begin to wonder if maybe he did do that to me deliberately, and it wasn't just "one of those things", which really, I'm more inclined to believe.
So, as I explained to Veldmaarschalk last night, I wanted the WIF mod totally deleted, as this would bring the seemingly developing personal issue between FT and myself to an end. I don't have an issue with FT. I'm just beginning to wonder if he has an issue with me? Also people were still posting on the WIF thread, even though it was closed. I didn't want to mislead them.
Today, I see my name in lights again, and FT posting stuff about me. Is this personal attack allowed?
To sum up:
I don't have an issue with FT.
Currently I have no intention of proceeding with WIF. This may change, depending on whether I get work or not.
But if I do, it will be a totally sandbox game.
If you want to take WIF forward in the meantime, go ahead, use the material, but please call it something else.
I've withdrawn WIF as it is not being worked on, and people posting on the thread are being misled into
thinking it is still active.
If you are playing the game, I don't see any problem caused to you, by the game being withdrawn.
It's on your hdd, so play.
Hopefully this is now the end of the FT/novapaddy issue.
If it carries on, I can fly to Paris (with my tax rebate money
) and FT can say stuff to my face.
