Personally I think so, but it could make your faction a pariah state or draw a lot of ire from other factions as this pretty much amounts to genocide. But on the other hand it could be the equivalent of wmds in this game.

And plus, as I see the potential for a SW mod growing out of Stelleris, what else can we use to simulate the death star and the galaxy gun(if Legends era comes into play) if the mod is set in Galactic Civil War era?

I would definitely consider buying the game if there will be a good Star Wars mod. But then the mod might become similar to Star Wars: Empire At War.

The better question is, will there be battle stations that can be mistaken as moons?

I'm fairy certain it has been stated elsewhere that you can destroy planets. However, this makes me ask the next logical question: What happens if I destroy every planet?

This can be solved by allowing us to create new planets. To fill the destroyed ones of course!

Can already imagine a nomadic-based race that focuses on the destruction of planets.

Of course, less expensive solutions such as independent space stations and such can serve as semi-planet/base

I like the idea of neutral, minor power space nomads that would flock to any "newly created" asteroid debris fields to mine them for resources when the major powers develop and start using planet smashing technology.

If one does have the ability to destroy planets, I hope doing so comes at a major consequence and other Empires band together against the aggressor. Hopefully (and I doubt it would be) there isn't a scenario where the murder of 15 billion or so is ignored through the known Universe.
