I'm running cities skylines on an Xbox X and I'm having problems with a couple of games now. I have a 22 addons of DLC including the ultimate content bundle, and plazas and promenades.

Both crash with a buzzing sound a long way into playing each game, some 140-150mb / 200mb.

Is this RAM issue or is there a bug in my latest addons, also is there a cure or are these two games permanently corrupted?

BTW I've tried clearing the persisitent storage, uninstalling and reinstalling the whole game, and removing the power cable for two minutes.

In addition:

Ive now uninstalled, and removed the persistent storgage and powered down and removed the power cable, RWited 3 mins, rebooted, reinstalled,

Ive got into the game, done a little bit of work, saved the game and a few minutes late the game has CTD. Ive done this a number of times and the time to CTD has decreased now to less than a minute before a CTD.

I'm also assuming no one else has a similar problem as there has been no response.

Ive started a third game and I will go with that until perhaps it shows problems.

There is one other thing, before I installed the ultimate bundle, there may have been a couple of addions which I had purchased which now form part of the bundle. Could there be some kind of detrimental affect merging these?

I've just started getting crashes exactly like you described. Everything was fine until I got to close to 30k pop. I tried expanding my university area, but as soon as I zoom in or out, bzzzzt crash.

Got all DLC's and CCPs and also running at the latest version.

I had only a couple of such crashes before the latest update, but I could usually carry on fine where it left off after reloading. Now however, load, play a few seconds and bzzzzt.

I've been able to carry on playing the game now. I figured it must have had something to do with the two new stadiums I placed in the university area. I reloaded, did nothing and sure enough a crash a few seconds later. I reloaded again and this time I deactivated both stadiums immediately and accelerated the time. No crash!
I activated one of the stadiums and still was fine, so waited a few more game weeks and activated the other, no crashes and I've played quite a few more game months since.

I have a lot of tourists and a lot of sims using public transport. I think having two new stadiums at once must have fried something in the game, with it having to calculate ca. 1.5k new sim movements all at once. That's my theory and I'm sticking with it lol.

Thanks. Yeah, I think there are some issues with memory management, but at least these guys do investigate and fix things, for the most part anyway.
In my case, where I have a lot of sims in one place is where I'll find stuttering problems. I have an amusement park with 300 weekly visitors right next to a very busy multi-platform train station. I'm thinking of renaming that district to Stuttersville. In every city I've made, the University area has always caused a lot of stuttering, especially on match days. It never caused a crash though.

The only other game I have identical crashes with is Civ6, but that game is notorious for it and it hasn't been fixed in a long time.
