[Windows 10] Crash on loading flags

Hey all,

I have this problem where when i launch the game it crashes on the first loading screen (usually while loading flags), now i have read a couple of threads on the forum about this and have tried it but none have worked so far. I tried a full reinstall (several times), disabling my antivirus, deleting the flags folder... i tried everything i could google.

The problem first appeared after the 2.8.3.1 patch came out, i havent been able to play the game since. If i run the game with a beta version from 2.8.2.1 it runs perfectly.

Does anyone know what i should try?

Please look in Documents/paradox/ck2/gfx/flags/ folder. There should be two .txt files and 3 or more .tga files there.

If there are no .tga files there, that is the problem. An antivirus app is getting in the way of the game creating those files.

Either you need to unload that AV app then run the game so it can make those files, or we have to make them separately. Sometimes users have installed the game on some other computer, let it make those files, and copy them across.

Also tried installing on my laptop and transporting the files but it still crashes at the same moment
