Windows problem, game minimizes

I know this isn't an EIC problem, as it happens with EU3 and RTW as well. For no reason the game just minimizes for no reason. I'm not even touching the keyboard or mouse most of the time. Fortunately these three games recover perfectly after an ALT-Tab.

Anyone else have this happen to them?

This is usually some other program interfering. Do you have an anti-virus software installed? AVG perhaps?

Norton Internet Security. It does its weekly check Mondays at 8, but who knows what else is going on. It's just that nothing is visibly running when the screen minimizes.

Try to run the game in windowed mode.

This seems to be a problem more and more people are having, according to my last Google search. Most people feel it's a problem with AVG 9.0, but I don't have that and it's recent. I'm thinking the last Windows update did something it shouldn't have. I've now had this happen on six different programs.

As for windowed mode, the music stutters and each keyboard entry or mouse click takes at least five seconds to register. Forget scrolling the screen. It's easier to ALT-Tab or maximize EIC when this occurs. I'm playing with graphics on "low."
