A lot of his character seemed to be turning around the feeling and experience of being second to something and not good enough.

"Revenge of the one armed prussian" as subtitle, refering to his issues since birth with his left arm.

The more I think of it, the more I'm dead serious on a 4x Majesty 3. I would sacrifice children to Moloch for it.

Vickie 3 would be nice, but Majesty 3 4x? Sacrifice. Children.

Well I feel incredibly stupid right now. My most sincere apologies to both Wiz and Mr. Delrue.
(Or maybe it's a compliment, to be mistaken for him like that? Hmmmm)
As promised I shall now crawl back to the Stellaris forum and hide in my shame. That's what I get for daring to venture out.
 
Still hoping for that Dominions-meets-grand strategy fantasy game I keep dreaming about :p .
 
I'm thinking it will be a fantasy GSG, based in the Exalted setting. That setting is basically tailor-made for GSGs, especially those along the lines of CK2, and given the recent events that ended with PI fully absorbing WW, I can see them wanting someone who they fully trust in charge of getting something profitable out of those IPs.

(That I've been hoping for a CK2-esque game set in Exalted ever since Paradox's acquisition of WW was announced has nothing to do with this guess. Nope.

Indeed. Or at the very least count me extremely leery and generally sceptical that a decent (not quality, but just decent) product will be forthcoming.

It ain't CK3, I'd bet money on that. After CK2 is over, they'll let it lie for a few years, then bring it back, and only once they have a good new underlying design for it. Going right back to CK3 is a bad look and they know it.

I don't know what it'll be but Wiz has enough credibility I think that it'll be something of a passion project, whatever it is. That could be Vic3 - iirc, he was behind the random Vic2 patch a while back - or it could be something completely out of left field.

(I...do kind of hope it's Vic3 though. Vic2 is great but it can be a real hassle at times with how dated it is)

Is that so? That would confirm my initial suspicion that Wiz was chosen to take over King's project some time ago. I suppose King was hired a while back to lay the groundwork for Vic3 and he's now decided to step back, having accomplished his task. Knowing that Wiz is a great fan of Vicky, and that he's also been very dedicated to Stellaris, I'm quite certain that the only way to make him quit as Stellaris lead was to offer him the lead on Vic3. That would mean we are less than two years from release now. Hopefully.
