This forum used to be alive with games being hosted pretty regularly. Nowadays though, it's moved pretty much entirely to the website Sufficient Velocity, in their Grand Strategy Roleplay subsection. A wider playerbase and greater interaction led to this.

If you still come to this forum wondering why it's dead and at a loss on how to join some new games, come join the GSRP discord channel for SV!

The GSRP genre style of game has a rich history on the forums here but with a handful of notable exceptions they either died out before getting interesting or never even got off the ground. The late Frymonmon, Stormbringer, and Etranger all had some great games on here. I still remember the one (was it 1756?) that ended with the entire economy of Europe crashing and the devastated Dutch bringing the plague all the way from Russia (which was in the midst of revolution) to their hated enemies in Spain, essentially dooming the entire continent.

Still, other game which require less commitment and are easier to reproduce (Diplomacy, Resistance, and Werewolf) have displaced the others with their success.
