Won't stop flickering

Hello,

I just got a new laptop from Dell. It's a 9300 Inspiron with a Nvidia GeForce Go 6800 card. HOI2 is the only game I've installed on it thus far. When playing HOI2 it flickers constantly, and I don't know how to fix it! I updated the video card driver to the latest version, I even played around with the video settings in windows desktop and lowered the screen resolution, but to no avail...

It just won't stop flickering.

Does anyone else have this problem or an idea as to how to solve this? It would be very much appreciated.

Flicker is usually caused by a program running in the background that periodiaclly wants to do something. Which triggers Windows to temprary shift focus from the game to the appliaction and back again.

Music Match is one of those culprits, but there are others as well.

Close all non essential programs (use task manager if you have to), and see if that helps.
