Just brought Hearts of iron 2, installed it and started up the program no problem. I go to select my scenario and then the country i want to play as then when i press start it crashes. No error message or anything it just breaks. any ideas?

First which exploitation system are you using for we need to know before we can give any help. Second we might also need your computer spec to know if it is a compatibility trouble.
Try the following
1. Uninstall HOI2 DD
2. Turn off UAC in windows... here is how... http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/wind...-windows-vista/
3. Install HOI2 DD. Do not install it in the default directory... try c:\games
4. Patch HOI2 DD.
If this doesnt work then ...
