So, I tried converting my WATK game to Vicky. It produced a faulty scenario file, that gives Windows error message when trying to start it in Vicky. I presume WATK is not automatically compatible with EU2->VIC but I would think it would produce something more useful than that. Is there already compatibility fixes for this and if not, what can I do to make it work? I wanna convert my Hannover-Germany to Vic. :(
 
It may be the new countries that's been added in Kasperus map that isn't converted proberly.

Did Kasperus release a converter along with his map?
 
It shouldn't be the new provinces that crash, right? I did gather that much from the MyMap conversion thread, as it was supposed to convert working. If it is the new countries added by Kasperus, how would I proceed to make it compatible with EU2Vic?

I'm not an expert on this but I think you need to add the new countries in the tag_conversion_table or the mother_merge_table.
I think you should tell Kasperus about this, I mean, he must've tested this before he said it worked, right?

I think it won't work correctly unless all the province id's that's new is added in the province.txt file but I could be wrong on this.
 
Oh, I haven't asked Kasperus should it work or not, not at all. I just presumed it would somehow possible to convert WATK games to Vicky with the EU2 to Vic utility.

I just looked at his post about this in his map thread.
He said that he will in the following weeks try to make a watk-adjusted conversion files for montyp's eu2vicky converter.
So I guess he's working on one, not that he already made one :)

Either that or help him with it ;)

It will be awesome to play EU2 with Kasperus map and then convert it to Vicky :cool:

Oh, but you need to change the provinces file too since otherwise your converted world will be quite strange. all the different province ID will make your converted world look a bit different for sure, so much I could get from my test conversion with mymap.
