Well... being a good southerner, I started a CSA campaign and have wiped the USA off the map. It took a little under a month due to my 14 divisions to their 1.

I then went and blitzkrieged New England away from the UK. They sent their army and I reduced it to a total of 4 divisions. They surrendered and the CSA has the east seaboard from Maine to east Georgia. I also wrangled all of their Caribbean and South American colonies from them in the peace treaty. I think that there needs to be some kind of garrison force in New England like a militia or something to at least put up a token fight.

I must say, I am really enjoying this scenario so far.

EDIT: Also, I absolutely love the default unit names for the infantry divisions. I didn't notice it until I saw a Stonewall division and I must say that it made my day.

You can thank Badass for those, he gave the mod the divisions and leaders for the CSA. :)

Well after my last post, I bid my time until I had built an infantry force to rival the Quebecois (35 divisions) and built up around 12 tank divisions. I then waged war and failed to notice that they were allied with France who also had an army of about 35-40ish infantry divisions, but no tanks to speak of. I also found out the hard way that they had a ton of them garrisoned on Quebec's border with Mexico. :eek: I must say, thank the Lord for tanks. It took about 8 months, but I annexed Quebec, took the French colonies in North and South America and released Guyana as a puppet due to my total lack of a navy.

Now this is where the fun started.

I got into a little arms race with the Mexicans. Our infantry divisions went from my 38 and their 42 to my 89 and their 84. But I had an ace up my sleeve. 27 ARM and 18 MOT were waiting in Charleston to be redeployed to the front. Did I mention that I was focusing solely on land and industrial research from the beginning of the game and had INF '41 and ARM III against their INF '36 in 1939?

Then the bastards threw a curve ball at me. I conquered the whole continent from northern Nicaragua to Swedish Canada and they had an island with 1 VP on it. I had no navy. None. So the war dragged on for another 2 months while I built 1 measly transport to take an infantry division to the island so I could annex Mexico.

Now the question is, 'To South America or to Europe?'

As a side note, Russia annexed the USSR, Germany is at war with Hapsburg Empire/Puppet Hungary, France is a war with Britain (no surprise there), Sweden will soon annex Finland barring a miracle, and and Angola has gone on an annexation spree in southern Africa.

It left me a totally undefended border until just before the beginning of the war. If I had not tried to learn of their troop movements, I would have been attacking undefended fronts in both wars. I don't know the cause, but it probably needs to be fixed.

Yer, it's just me being lazy using the AI that Paradox/AoD got instead of building my own for all countries.

Neither of them got CSA as an important enemy I believe.
 
When you get a chance, do something about China's unit production priorities. They are just like Nat China in vanilla with tons of militia and not much else. They just got crushed between Japan and India due to a lack of real units.

What kind of units do you suggest and which ratio? :)

Remember that it can't be above 100% as then it crashes. :)

Remember that a lot of CHC's problems is rather as of the commie alliance built in problems. And I will be dealing with that through events. :)
 
where did mountain infantry go?

I like this far more than the masses of useless militia that were a main part of its army with the old ai file. It lets them stay competitive in a war rather than being a total pushover.
I made the new priorities look like this.

I couldn't decide where to put the militia points at so I placed them into mountain and cavalry in equal parts. I also removed the cavalry techs from the ignore pile to the preference pile. What do you think?

Cavalry was just a placeholder. It could just as easily be ARM or LARM. I just picked cavalry because it was the second division type listed. If you think that the cavalry is fine I'll upload the chc ai file. If you would like something else, tell me what and I'll replace cavalry with that and upload.

For to help an AI to attack you better (to avoid the situation you had as the CSA):

Taken from the mex_1936 AI file:

If you switch the cities [First number] and then put it to how important target is [Second number].

So in the cases above:

Below is the importance to protect borders with said nation:

A higher means that more troops will be put to protect borders with said state.

EDIT: I cannot seem to find a csa.ai file so I will make one using your mex.ai as a template. I hope you do not mind me doing so.

EDIT2: I just need to finish the diplomacy, spying, and construction and the csa.ai will be ready for me to upload for you to approve/edit. I plan on doing/working on each of the starting countries in the mod. I will try to make the ai function as if it were actually from the history you wrote up for the mod back in HoI2.

And yes, the CSA AI file is lacking, as it's not an existing country in the game they haven't bothered to give it an AI and therefor it's given automatically the default AI.
