Editorial (Foreword)
Dear reader, i would like to welcome you to the first issue of our new monthly magazine World War Illustrated. In our first issue we will be taking a look at how Austria reasserts its rightful place amongst the world's superpowers.
Austria's task is a daunting one. How to re-unite their shattered empire, and pacify their aggressive neighbors, both the bloodthirsty syndicalists to the west and south, and mighty Germany who'se status as a world superpower is currently unrivaled.
If the Austrians are to succeed, they will need a leader with an iron fist and a velvet glove, someone who can unite the old fractured empire and keep his people happy, and at the same time, someone can smash any outside forces who wish to see Austria stay as a minor european nation.
As with future issues, the text and comments are written as if the writer is in control of everything that happens in his empire.
First things first. I think my army sucks, and there's no point in keeping about half of it. I've disbanded everything else but the HQ and Infantry divisions 1-8. They will be positioned in the italian border just in case. I will keep the navy for now, as they are the only ships i will have for a while. I will also keep the fighters and naval bombers as they are the only ones i have.
I also have only mediocre tech teams, so it'll take a while to research anything properly. Atleast until i reunite the empire.
This Lothar Rendulic must seriously be the only good general in my army and as a research just perfect to research the blitzkrieg tree of doctrines.
Well, the rest of the generals will learn through war, or die...
Production is set to supplies and consumer goods exclusively, there's no point in reinforcing or updating my current crappy divisions.
When i get the chance, my army will be a wall of meat reinforced with Austropanzers.
