Would it be possible to clean the ranking list?

Next step would be ranked seasons with statistics, could bring more people to play them and finish the season, always easier if you know you have to play some rankeds and than your ranking will be saved for ever and everyone can see that you were under the top 10 in season 1. makes it much more compelling

3 months season with awards(free games/dlcs or something like that) for the first 3-10 on the leaderboards would be cool and could hype the players to play it more imho.

At least some skin or ingame features. like in LoL or SC2 yeah.
