Hey guys, we all know kind of paradox uses DLC´s more and more (even for music now). Although i always get every DLC, to support the devs. And some DLC´, like the Ruler Editor in CKII really kick ass and are worth money (out of my point of view).

Still there is 1 DLC i would gladly pay 20+ Euros for. If Paradox willl release an official Game Converter. I know there are mod projects, i recently asked for them in another thread and i also looked at them.. but i think a game converter by the devs would work better (at least i assume it). Although even the Mod team successes with the Converting Project (and they had some success with the eu3 -> vic2), i´m somehow pretty sure that there will be a Eu4 soon. I dont want to wait years for and Eu3 -> Vic2 Converter. I would rather like to buy EU3 and play my very first game untill the year 1950. Starting in CK2 .-> Eu4 -> Vic2 -> Hoi3. So i suggest a kind of voting, not for an converter whish only converts 1 game to another, but an programm whish converts all 4 Games (if you want).

But developing such an awesome programm will need a lot of time and so cost a lot money for the devs. And we saw in the Vic -> Hoi2 converter, that converting can be.. "not pretty good".
So i would like Paradox to create an Converter program, they constantly update (when there is a new expansion for a game, the converter should be updated, if there is a new game, a downloadcode is needed (about 20 euro?). The Basic Converter could cost about 49 Euro (with the ability to convert ck2 -> eu4 -< vic2 -> hoi3) but if people only have some of the games, they should be able to get the converter in a cheaper light version, but the with ability to purchase the other convert options afterwards.

And if there comes an game filling the gap between rome and ck, a DLC for the Converter could make it happen to start in the roman age and play into 1950.

Question is, would you purchase such program? (We just assume that it would work decently)

If working decently and with updates per game patch. I'd buy it if it's somewhere between 0-10 euros. Then again, I don't have as many games so I suppose that makes it worth less to me. :D

no*

by the end of a game I'm usually the biggest country around. No reason to convert this. I'm rather start from scratch again.

*Maybe when it's on a -75% sale, but only for the sake of having it, I won't use it.

Well, than it should probably need a harder gameplay for you. For me it is impossible to become bigger in Vic2 than GB or Russia (even i play Germany).

And when i play Eu3 with Brandenburg, in the End there are still bigger countries in Asia or America. Or at least equal ones.

Probably the Idea is to not only make the games longer but also harder. The bigger a country the harder is holding it.

You want to change gameplay (for all games) so a converter becomes more useful?

I have a feeling that if Paradox made a converter, they would plan to make one when creating the series of games that could be converted. In which case, yeah they would plan for that.

Personally, I'm less interested in playing one country/tribe for 2,000 or so years. And more interested in seeing how the world would/could develop.

Well after 2.000 Years the world can develop a lot

Very much this. Already by the end of the first game the world would probably be so messed up, and mostly controlled by my nation, that the subsequent game(s) wouldn't be any fun.

I like the idea of megacampaigns, but no. Not unless world conquest is made MUCH harder and stability becomes much more of an issue. As it is, the only thing worth converting is Victoria 2/HOI3 unless I want to start a game near CK2 or EU3's end date.

Played an EU2 -> Victoria game back in the day once, but it was just too easy - the only question was whether I'd pull a WC off in time, not whether any nation could stand up to me.

No,there are already mods who do that

Yes I would.

I know the mods are available free, but I would like to see them get paid to take the mod to a higher level with many options available when converting and keep them updated to current game patches.

I wouldn't buy it. By the end of CK2 game the map is in such a state that continuing in EU3 would be ridiculous and pose no challenge. Same with other possible conversions.
On the plus side Johan expressed interest in making a converter DLC.
