I wish to express both my support for the general concept and my desire to not get inbetween @coz1 and @TheButterflyComposer as they discuss the precise details. Either approach would be fine with me. ;)

I wanted to thank everyone for the unexpected show of support. As far as I can remember, this was the fourth time I took WritAAR of the Week, so I wanted to start 2025 by shining the spotlight on someone who has never received this awAARd before.

(The user known as @AlemãoÉSopa prefers to be called "Daybreak" so that's what I'll use from here on out.)

Daybreak is a new face in the CKIII AAR forums and new to AARLand as a whole. But their first AAR Blood of the Trojans is off to a strong start. The author has gone on record saying that English is not their first language, and that reader feedback is encouraged. Daybreak is quickly proving to be the type of writer who easily engages with readers in the comments, and the post-script discussions after a chapter are posted are just as much fun as the actual story content.

In my eye, the skill and talent to write a story in a non-native language, combined with a friendly and approachable personality are the best reasons to pass along the WritAAR of the Week mantle to a first-time winner.

Therefore, I would like to nominate Daybreak as the first WritAAR of the Week for the year 2025!

Oh God, I was expecting to get a new author to binge-read this week, not a nomination!

First of all, thank you for using my username of choice!

It's an honor to receive this commendation, especially from such a prolific, talented and experienced author such as yourself.

If you permit a side note, bear with me, while my current AAR "phase" is mostly derivative from CK works, the second AAR I ever read was actually your Song of the Solitaire. I didn't finish it because I was a lazy bum (I still am, but that's beside the point), but I liked it a lot, it really showed me what could be done with the more narrative side of an AAR, and I still wish to finish it one day. Without it, I might have very well stopped digging for other AARs, thus I wouldn't have discovered the other great works in this forum and wouldn't be inspired by them to write mine down. So, this AAR and all my future ones are all a butterfly effect from me reading your work!

I hope to be able to proportionate a fun time for the peeps in this forum with my ramblings and misadventures. Have a good one, everyone!

Great choice @Macavity116 ! Indeed @AlemãoÉSopa is a great new addition to the Forum. Welcome and congratulations Daybreak!

Thank you!

The time has come for another writer of the week to be chosen.

First of all, thank you guys for the support, the people in this forum have been nothing but welcoming and positive ever since I got here. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to be too active this passing week due to life―the ever-dastardly churl―encroaching in (I wish I had pushed a chapter during my week, but, alas, I couldn't).

I did, however, find some―though not as much as I would like or the amazing authors in this forum deserve―time to read up on what I missed this week yesterday. And I feel like it would only be fair to pass the kindness of my nominator forward and appoint another up-and-coming author. Thus I nominate @Jojonium for their God's Hand made Wonders, God's Hand made Me - A Norman Sicily AAR, which has served as their comeback to AARland after their first AAR in 2022. It is off to a pretty good start so far and I'm excited about its future.
