In the latest version the Iron Throne starts with Medium Faith authority (armed orders allowed) and First Night legal in the Crowned Stag start. Shouldn't it be Low Faith Authority and First Night banned, if I have my canon right?

This is due to a vanilla bug where laws aren't being set up properly. England has gavelkind in vanilla for example. Hopefully they will fix it for the next patch.
Is it possible to do an event to check if Robert Baratheon (and whatever future kings there are) is king when the game first initialises, then sets the crown laws to the appropriate sort?
That is indeed what we have done for now, but when Paradox fix this it will become uneccessary to do so.
