This is splendid news, not just because it's more convenient, but also because it will keep the older games and the passion that they attracted a bit more visible.

Anything about a Darkest Hour wiki? Its the only thing missing. There isnt even a HoI 2 wiki.
To the best of my knowledge there's never been a Darkest Hour wiki.
The HoI2 Wiki is one of the wikis we'll be restoring though.

That's sweet iv been looking for hoi2 wiki for ages my friend and I have just started up a mp game of hoi2 dh on hard and was looking for the wiki as would be some help is there any date set for it to happen will it be any time soon soz for hassle just looking forward to it being back up just getting back into hoi2 again =]

Thanks to everyone involved for bringing these "old" paradox titles back to wiki.

A bit of a shame that there will not be one for Darkest hour. The Darkest hour download does come with useful information in the modding documentation folder, but I'm sure it would be helpful for it to be located on wiki. Just a thought :)

Again, thanks for all your efforts.

It's not as if Paradox said it wasn't a possibility with a DH wiki. If someone rounds up a community team that writes a lot of articles and then requests a wiki and shows all the content that have already been prepared they might agree to create one. I guess they'd be unwilling to add such a wiki as it seems unlikely there are enough active community members actually willing to create content for it, but if we as a community shows there are people willing to do the work to add the content needed we can prove that wrong. Nothing stopping us from registering and making our own wiki site though. :)

Morning, everyone.

As mentioned a page or two ago, we would be rehosting the four Paradoxian Wikis that we hadn't already rehosted.
This has now been done:

http://www.victoria1wiki.com/Main_Page
http://hoi2.paradoxwikis.com/Main_Page
http://www.eu2wiki.com/Main_Page
http://www.arsenalofdemocracywiki.com/Main_Page

All content from the wikis now exists once more, minus a few spam pages and similar. It is possible to edit as well by registered users who are already active on another Paradox Wiki, though we don't expect any of them to be especially active in that regard.
Considering the games' age, there won't be active support of these wikis beyond ensuring that they stay online and free from spam, but any user who wants to improve them is free to do so.

- These are not yet linked on the general Paradox Wikis page : http://wikis.paradoxplaza.com/
Just saying.:p

- So i guess the old (non-HoD) Victoria II Wiki won't get hosted ?
It was sometimes interesting to read about the differences, compared to the HoD and updated Vic II Wiki.

Since they're not actively updated, they won't be linked on that page. Maybe at some point we'll make a page that lists the really old wikis too though.

The official Vic2 Wiki is already a rehost of the Paradoxian Vic2 Wiki. It's just changed a ton since.

....but how to find them if one doesn't know about them and their address ? o_O (apart from random luck on googling of course)

Well the differences were the interesing part.
The old one was for pre-HoD and some people don't have both expansions and...., but i see i guessed right.

You can always check the history of any given page if you're interested in that :)

Checking history pages ? Serious....

That's how the vast majority of people get to any of the wikis.

That weren't really the answers i had hoped for, but i have to admit that they are answers....
You are really good at this question-response game. ;)

*sigh*

Now i know why people go bowling.

I'll have a beer.

It's so great to have the hoi2 wiki back thou looking at it isn't some things missing on it as I seem to remember more info about things like doctrines etc just seems to be mostly just country guides pretty sure it's just a light watered down version of the hoi2 wiki unless I remember wrong

We copied everything on the wiki, so nothing should be missing other than some spam we filtered out.

Oh ok think I know what it is think it's cos there isn't good links to everything as say if want to find page on naval prime you have to search for it on the wiki rather then there being a main menus for different things like before. So unless you knew some pages where there before you wouldn't know.
think a proper index page is needed with links to the other pages like the country tab so say a tech tab army tab naval air etc as pretty sure had that before so can navigate the pages better

We have what we have, however for each wiki you can use the all pages without redirects subpage
http://hoi2.paradoxwikis.com/Special:AllPages?from=&to=&namespace=0&hideredirects=1

Or append Special:AllPages?from=&to=&namespace=0&hideredirects=1 to the URL of any of our wikis.

Thank you so much for rehosting these wikis! As grateful as I am, I also agree with Cypher:

The main pages of the rehosted wikis only show a fraction of their content. That's true not only of HoI2, but also for EU2 and Victoria. It's easy to see that a lot is missing by comparing the main pages of the rehosted sites to the original ones as shown the web.archive.org link provided on the first page of this thread. For example, the rehosted Victoria main page provides links only to Memnon's manual and two of its chapters. Helpful, of course, but all the rest is missing. The new EU2 main page only links to "State Religion", "Domestic Policy" and "Countries". Some other pages can be accessed through hyperlinks from those articles, but that still leaves a huge part inaccessible. I tried replacing EU2 and Victoria1 for HoI2 in Dauth's link, but it didn't work.

If nothing can be done about that, it's really a pity given all the work that went into these wikis as well as into rehosting them.

If you have a list of the pages you consider most important on one or more of the wikis, I'll happily put those on the front page :)

@Verrucosus, @Cypher000 the full list of pages for all 4 wikis are here
http://www.victoria1wiki.com/Special:AllPages?from=&to=&namespace=0&hideredirects=1
http://hoi2.paradoxwikis.com/Special:AllPages?from=&to=&namespace=0&hideredirects=1
http://www.eu2wiki.com/Special:AllPages?from=&to=&namespace=0&hideredirects=1
http://www.arsenalofdemocracywiki.com/Special:AllPages?from=&to=&namespace=0&hideredirects=1

If any of these links don't work then let me know. If you can show us any missing pages from the archives we're also happy to make sure the information is copied to the new wikis.

Furthermore if you want to work on these wikis, they are open to be edited by anyone with a wiki account that has made decent edits on the main wikis.
