X on Dome Icon (or cross)

Can someone tell me what the X on the dome icon in the Pinned Domes is for?
I know status is reflected in that icon, like on/off, needs maintenance, damaged, etc, but my dome is healthy and working and it has an X on the Dome Icon and I cant figure out why?

I don't think that's it. I renewed the maintenance and it made no difference. but you gave me an idea.
I'll check all the building as well for maintenance and see if that's it.

So I found this out.
If the dome itself or any building in the dome is in the red on maintenance that's when you see an X on the dome icon.
Mystery solved.

I think it might be something to do with the filters not providing enough potential colonists to fill the dome?

I've had tons of buildings which stopped working because they needed maintenance, but never once noticed that cross icon before - and now I've got it in a dome that's saying 28/29 colonists (I have around 70 homeless people across the colony, but none of them are moving into this particular dome because of the filter settings...)

I honestly have no idea. From what I can tell, it usually means something's not working in the dome, but I have no idea what. This is going off the fact that every time I've had that icon on the dome, which should provide a tooltip to explain what it is, clicking on the dome has the power button in yellow, which everywhere else means there's something wrong with the building stopping it from producing, usually storage full. Strange thing is, if I toggle power off and on for that dome, the icon immediately goes away and the power button goes green again. The lack of information about a large number of things (both in and out of game) makes it frustrating to play sometimes.

I figured it out. If either the dome needs maintenance and is in the red or a building inside the dome is in the red then the X is on the dome icon.

The X doesn't happen while maintenance is being done, it happens before maintenance is being done. Once maintenance starts, the X goes away. And the only time I've ever seen that X on a dome was when my dome had a full red bar and wasn't able to be maintenanced right away because my drones were busy building something else. I think if a drone doesn't go to maintenance right away when the bar fills, the X appears, if a drone does go immediately, no X appears.

Correct. According to the mechanics, if a drone is on its way to repair a building or factory then the building or factory continues to operate but at a slower degraded rate instead of stopping. Same for Domes. If a dome where to stop operating you have just a few hours before folks suffocate, they will however start to vacate if they can.
That's what the X is for, it means you are close to something in that dome or the dome itself from failing.
