Hi all,

As I recently became a fan of the game, playing via Game Pass on PC and thus I decided to puchase Utopia, Megacorp and Apocalypse.

In the launcher, after starting the game from the Xbox App, there is no option of properties or any way of selecting DLC.

So.. How do I fix this problem.. I have tried deleting the Stellaris folder in My Docs, and also an Uninstall and Reinstall of the game..

Hope you can help..

Just to check - you bought these DLCs from the MS Xbox store? Not say from us or Steam or elsewhere?

If so, do they show as bought in your Xbox account online? I ask because it's really up to them to deliver product you bought from their store to the game installation via their client!

Hi Andrew,

Yes, I bought them and downloaded them through the MS Store, and they show in my MS Account on the Stellaris page as Installed. In the Stellaris launcher there is only options for News, Mods and Game Settings. And in game there is none of the DLC content. Due to the way MS does this installation, and locks the installation folders I can't do or see much else.. Do I need to use the Paradox Launcher (Which I tried to install, but it crashes when trying to run "cpatch")? or is there something else going on here..

Of note, Stellaris uses the folder Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris GamePass for this version (for settings and savegames), although that probably doesn't mean anything

You can't use the standalone Paradox Client to run the MS store edition of the game, sorry, only the Steam/Paradox edition.

If the DLCs show up in your online account I don't see why they wouldn't install for you. But I don't know how MS handle such things; I know on the PS4 the users have to manually download each DLC!

If you've done a full reinstall of the game that surely should have installed them! Have you contacted their support?

They are "Installed" according to the MS Store/Xbox App, I'm doing one more uninstall, re-download and install process, it will just take a while due to really slow internet in my current country.

It is just strange that with this version of the launcher, there is no DLC option. Is it because I am using GamePass and I haven't yet purchased the game? Surely there isn't two different versions....

I'm having the exact same issue. Let me know what works for you.

So like the OP I had Stellaris on PC through Windows Game Pass. I even purchased the Utopia DLC. Everything installed or shows installed on my library in Microsoft Store. However, when you launch Stellaris through PC game pass or Microsoft Store you get the Stellaris launcher, much like Steam version HOWEVER its totally missing DLC and launcher settings like the Steam version has. Therefore there's no way to activate the DLC. We're telling Paradox this so they can work with Microsoft to fix this since Microsoft can't magically produce a launcher without Paradox. I mean, my god you even have a sale on Microsoft Store for the DLCs through gamepass yet nobody can play the DLCs.

FYI there is no need to manually activate DLCs in the launcher on any game version; the reason they show there is so you can de-activate them if you want, in fact.

IOW they should all be active all the time in this situation. That some work and some don't is almost certainly nothing to do with the launcher as such, but some game or XBox store issue.

I'm raising this with Paradox tonight, but if you want more direct response form them please lodge a support ticket at paradox.zendesk.com with all applicable details.

Sorry about this problem, whatever the cause!

Thanks for the assistance AndrewT,

Not sure if it was anything Paradox did, or a second attempt at a full re-download and install (6 nights, due to 3rd world Internet, and not wanting to ruin day time internet use), but the DLC now appear in the Launcher and in-game.

Cheers

I will bet then it was a glitch in the Xbox world.

All the best!

So .I too seem to be stuck with this dilemma. I built a nice gamming rig that can handle pops. The base "free not free" Game (since the xbox ultimate subscription fee. ) is included. I have tried my level best fix this issue. Win 11 is my current os. I have contacted microsoft support for gamepass They swear it not them as the dlc content is delivered with the download. Any pass through permissions from the xbox applications to the Stellaris launcher are to them is an issue with paradox. I have proof As my old laptop i was playing on the launcher shows in the menu the DLC link. this link is missing on my new system.

Please don't update old threads like this. Thanks.
