Xbox one - trucks vanishing but not stuck in traffic

Hi. Is it normal that trucks just despawn even if they can drive freely or only have some short slowdowns? What happens to the goods they transport?

Lots of trucks on long routes just vanish suddenly. I know this is also done to prevent traffic jams but why does it happen if they are moving.

I don't believe this is a bug. Vehicles will despawn if they can't make it to their destination in time. This means that it doesn't matter if they are in motion or not. If it takes them too long to travel from A to B, they will despawn.

This can cause issues with supply as the resources won't be delivered to their destination (coal to coal power plant, products to businesses, etc).

In the Info View panel, you can view areas where there are traffic jams. Try to improve the traffic flow in these areas. A good target to aim for is about 70% traffic flow or higher. If you want tips on how to improve traffic flow, you can find plenty on these forums and over on Reddit.

Thanks. I usually have 85-90%, so traffic is good. But if traffic is ok trucks shouldn't just despawn. :/

I noticed that all my oil tanks are empty with balanced and fill setting. Maybe trucks vanishing on long routes is part of the problem? But even on fill they send trucks out to factories.

I have no proof of this, but its possible that the game despawns when you hit the vehicle limit, and will despawn the oldest spawned vehicles first, no matter what they are (at least for road vehicles, not sure how it applies to disappearing trains)

Thus, if your trucks are disappearing with no traffic, then you willl need to make your endpoint for the trucks closer to the origin point. Look at the route info for trucks to see where they're headed, and try to build whatever the are delivering to closer, or build an alternative mode of transport terminal somehwere in between, since cargo can utilise multiple types, in the same manner as peds do (eg. walk, bus, train, tram, walk)

Trucks, cargo train, cargo ship, air with cargo terminal. Not passenger train, ferry, or passenger air. A single "package" can go truck > train > truck for example

Right. I thought for a moment you meant any kind of transport.

I added some new shortcuts (highway) and it looks like this helped a bit. But oil tanks even on fill setting are still not filling up. I'll try to make shorter routes.

Maybe we could have peds carrying boxes on to buses
