Xbox: Rail lines help?

Hi all I'm really baffled by how the rail lines work. I've got a loop and I've got the icon at both stations but can't see how to draw the lines? Am I missing something? Don't want to have to delete all the tracks because I can't figure it out

start line at station 1 drag line to station 2, drag line back to station 1 to complete the line. you don't need the create line icon at both stations

Thanks for your help.still can't figure it out though. Tap a creates line but there doesn't seem to be any line (as in when building roads) to drag. I just end up with the pulsating line icon and give up in frustration.
This is on Xbox of course.
