This is probably someplace obvious in the manual, or has been mentioned on this forum 20 times... but I can't find it:

How do I disband an army? Running short on cash, I'd like to economize by getting rid of an army or two and cut my maintenance costs. But I can't seem to figure out how.

Thanks!

Hello Jennifer:

You can disband an army or navy by clicking on the disband button that appears at the bottom right of the army rectangle, just above the settlers button.
It is not always the best thing to do. You can also save money on armies or navies by lowering their mainteinance costs. You can do so by moving to the left the bars that appear in their respective land and sea military screen (the soldier's head and the anchor just at the left of your countrie's shield). However, by doing so, your troops morale will lower, raising again when you raise their mainteinance cost.

By reading the above, Jennifer, you may have picked up a tip:-
Lower maintaintance costs during peace and raise during an impending war.....

How long does it takes for your army to regain full strength after you have increased maintaince from 50% t0 100%?
I tried when playing as Japan to sometimes reduce my maintaince, but usually I forgot to move it back and all my soldiers become slauhgtered in Corea:eek:

When u declare war urself, put it back to 100% and wait for it to be at the max again. IF attacked, shun from confrontations till it is ok. Don't forget it :D Should be about a month.

REALLY don't forget it... it is quite annoying when you do...

BTW, you a girl? Yippieeeeeeeeee
Forgive me my childish behaviour but women are rare on this forums :)

Nice to be appreciated, Vulture, even if only for my gender.

Yes, at the moment of registration, not being able to think of a clever , witty, and apt nom de guerre, I revealed my total lack of imagination by using my own name.

Can't imagine why women are so rare on this forum. EU seems to favor craft and cunning -- and that's where we really excell, isn't it?

:D

I do not favor you cuz of your gender, I was just happily surprised :D
I think women just don't like the game mostly cuz of war, conquest etc. :)
Welcome aboard gal'...
