Your country colour (in political map)

Hi, I think this question can belong here and in the scenario threads.

How does the game decide what colour you are in the political map (i.e. why is France blue?) and, thus, how can you affect what colour original countries, such as those added in a customized scenario, are.

Anyhow,

for what it is worth,
wehn I added a new country to check out what it did, my game worked fine except the new State appears in gray (kind of ugly).

They colours for the countries are all preset. And unfortunately, there isn't any way to change them.
