Let's collect our ideas/links to topics in here.
Please only a few words, create a new topic and link it here if you want to elaborate. Thanks :)

- Minimap!

- Curved water pipes/electricity poles

- Panning with right mouse button!

- Modular buildings (aka Simcity's expandable power plants and such)

- Multiplayer?

- Sunken ways for public transport and roads
- Old and historical buildings
- More variety and types for the public transport (subway stations, buses terminals and so on)
- Ground and elevated ways for subway, underground and elevated stations for trains, and integrated terminals/stations for all kind of transport

Minimap would be a nice way to quickly move around the map if you can click on it and have the main map center on that point.

I know it's been said but I want to be able to build airports and farms with either modular parts or zoning. Would be nice to lay out the runways and designate where the buildings would spawn instead of a small plopable or just haing it spawn from a zone alone.

Elevated trams would be neat as well even if small connecting a few buildings.

My main hope is to see my city actually seem to be alive. Just having the traffic running around is nice but with car accidents or utility crews working around and maybe trucks doing deliveries. Police chasing criminals. Just stuff that might not really affect the game but to have things happen that make me say " wow what's going on over here" would be cool. I know some things that are just fluff are hard to get into a game when other things that DO affect gameplay deserve the devs full attention. Maybe they can just have one person dedicated to making the city feel more alive would be worth it.

Weather like rain and snow. Even just clouds casting a shadow on the city as it passes by.

Helicopter pads. Landing on hospitals or off shore oil rigs or even landing at car accidents causing back ups. Or just transporting Citidiots from high end buildings to off map or just to another building.

Back alleyways behind houses.

Anyway that's my ideas for now...I'm sure I'll have more later. I think it's great that devs look at these forums and let us help create ideas. Even if the don't use them all I hope it helps them see what we would like to play. I had so much hope for simcity 2013 but it was pretty sad effort.

id love to see a large range of economic options that link back to transport.
Its one thing to build the city but how people move around it is what i love to tinker with.

eg:
ability to set/apply parking meters to areas to a) generate income b) encourage people to use public transport
The policies options is going to be great, how far they take it though is unknown.
As others have said before bike paths are great.
Would love to be able to increase car registration fees as well to again encourage public transport as an alternative.
Also to be able to set the house annual rates which would increase or decrease based on land value of an area.
Now im probably going to far but its an ideas thread right so let throw in stamp duty income and get commission from sold house in high land value areas. This increase the incentive to build high land value areas which generate better income vs cheap dirty areas which dont generate as much from these ordinances but may from trade.

aesthetic idea ... replace road texture, with newone more realistic, for now is too monochrome
If we can do dams, would be great channel with lock system like panama,to lift ships to dam level

I would like to see North American style streets that have crescents that are round or oval with or without center grass filled boulevards. The lots for the homes would rap around the crescent creating a more realistic suburb for the city.

There are a few things I've dreamed up.

The first is underground tunnels/roads similar to whats in Brisbane. They should be really expansive to reflect real costs.

I've always wanted to see leisure and tourism as a seperate zoning category.
- Hotels and bars have thier own demand within commercial say. End game is to zone 'club' districts and party precincts.

Also, how about a city edict that helps you re-educate industrial workers into white collar roles?

Lastly I've always wanted to see Stadiums that let you choose your city team/colours. When you click on the city you get to see scoreboards and standings for each year. Your city cometes against other cities. If you want you can put more money into local sports programs to make your future pros better.

This is a bit more of a wishlist than ideas.
- Maps in the location of famous cities (New york, Sydney, London to name a few) or Importing maps and street layouts of famous cities with openstreetmap
- Amusement and Rollercoaster Parks (mabye with custom rollercoasters?)
- Naming Streets
- Reclaimed land for in game terraforming
- Custom Billboards to place along highways
- Space programs

- Maps in the location of famous cities (New york, Sydney, London to name a few) or Importing maps and street layouts of famous cities with openstreetmap
That would be fantastic, I would vote for it.
But I think for big cities like Paris, London etc. the map-size in CSL is to small.
