Take any war in ancient or medieval history. Give them rudimentary telegraph's. Imagine the Mongols being able to communicate nearly instantly between China and Eastern Europe.

The fact that the US forces had universal radio contact was a very mixed blessing in the Vietnam war with superiors meddling in their subordinates area of responsibility.

So what? That would have to do with poor doctrine and not a drawback of the technology. Also that war is a terrible example for this as well as most things since the US never invaded the north due to Chinese guarantees. Also the war was lopsided as hell.
I can cite examples for days of the German army in WWI delegating command down the ranks yet still coordinating from the top due to the miricle that is radios. Or the Russians on the opposing front refusing to coordinate their two army groups and suffering heavily from it.
