The current situation with the mod.

- I haven't encountered any load issues. I have published a new version just so that anyone having load issues will have no more load issues.
- The mod works with creating new roads. So if you create a new road, the zoning is applied as the mod intends.
- The mod's update tool is broken and I was unable to fix it. I am continuing to look into that.

So the primary function that people use this mod for, which is to update existing layouts, still doesn't work. Got it.

Don't get lippy. He's doing this for free.

We appreciate your work Zeeshan!

After testing, the specific issues are as follows. I am reposting them again. It still conflicts with the original road mod. Updating roads can only be done after the game save is loaded for the first time. The update function fails after clicking the road laying icon. Opening both the Zoning Toolkit and the road icon simultaneously may cause all icons on the game interface to disappear and become irretrievable, necessitating a game restart.

Even if I completely delete the mod folder and download it again, it doesn't work properly.
Zone updates do not work on newly installed and existing roads.
The mod still has a lot of issues, please fix it to work properly.

I have a temporary fix. I have reverted to version 0.9.1. It works if i use the picker, choose a road, and then select an option on the zoning toolbar.
This is to be done every time you need to use it. It works fine, until the modder has the opportunity to repair it.

Displayed in developer change log
"Just a recompile to get it to work with latest patch."
Please explain more about this part.
It's because I'm Korean, so there's a limit to translation.

I can appreciate their work, but broken is broken. The update function is the most used, and while the tool is still helpful it's only about 1/10 as helpful as it could be.

The author isn't obligated to fix it on any timetable, and I'll simply be happy when they are able to, but that doesn't change the reality of it's current functionality.

Thanks for building the mod and using your precious time to update and fix.

As of 22/02/2025 the New road function works well and properly. the update function work initially on reloading a save game but when you stop and start something else such as plopping buildings/road building etc., even just shutting it off and reopening the tool, the upgrading function ceases to work. The new road zone function is fine.
The launcher does not indicate any conflicts or missing dependencies. Tried several times now and the mod has just stopped upgrades every time.

BTW I'm playing a brand new start on a fresh install. So happened even on foundation level. Also the next two city levels. Seemed it made no difference.

I've tried reinstalling the mod, verifying game etc no joy!

As said appreciate your time effort and skill.

Personal work around is to carefully plan my zoning before road building. Deleting and rebuilding using the working functionality when necessary. Doable on a new map.

With no disrespect to zeeshanabid94, there is a newer version of this mod called Advanced Road Tools (ART). Thanks to zeeshanabid94 for creating and maintaining the mod for almost a year. I don't know what I would have done if I had to demolish and rebuild roads to get zoning to behave, but it has become quite a hassle to get the update feature to work since December. As of today, I switched to ART.

Hey! I just installed for the first time on the latest version of the game but unfortunately can't get it to work. I select the - no zone - option and click on the upgrade button, which opens up road menu for some reason, and when I click on the road nothing happens. The cursor doesn't change nor does it do anything. Is it just me? Am I missing something or using it incorrectly?

I don't really know if this has been covered before, but I was wondering if there is a way to limit the zonable squares that attach automatically when reating our road networks. other than planning it out between 2 roads, like can we just set it at 2 or 3 etc.?

I figured this mod's comment section is where i should start. maybe give the creator(s) an idea
