Hello!

We have now released Great Works and we hope you are as pleased with the result as we are. We are aware that there are a few issues here and there (Who knew Chalkidike was uninhabited right up until the 8th century?), but we have fixed many of these issues internally and will continue to do so. Also if you find any issues make sure to report them on the bug forum.

We’re not quite ready to announce when it will be out, but we are currently working on a bug fix patch. There will also hopefully be a few fun updates as well. Let us know which issues are bothering you the most as it can help us prioritize.

Have a great weekend and thank you for your feedback so far.

Hope we get further map graphics along with extra culture group UI graphics for all wonders for immersion sake. Although I love this new system, it doesn't quite sit right with me that a palace graphically looks the same for a European as well as an Indian or Middle Easterner. You know, it's those extra bits of dedication from the Devs that made us fall in love with Paradox.

I'm not sure if this is already reported but it seems the palace is not giving its bonuses like the retinue and levy size with the upgrades and I am independent and own since it is in my capital in Provence.

There's a bug with the event where you spy on your spymaster. Choosing "time to spy on the spy" immediately fires your spymaster instead of triggering the next event as it did before.

Sacrificing people to Satan doesn't put them on your private kill list, but it probably should.

But please do prioritize the bug with stats only being influenced by the mother for non-bastards.

This is a great update but personally I have one major problem with it and that is the map models.

Outside of Europe the hexagonal buildin (that deosnt even make sense for most of the things it represents) looks out of place. Ive even noticed that in Aachen what you build overlaps and clips into the palace model from conclave.
Would it be possible to get a game option that stops the models from the great works appearing on the map as everything else seems to be really well done?

The issue that bothers me most right now is Aztecs who never actually declare war. They just sit in the provinces they spawn in, allegedly because the CB they were meant to use doesn’t work on Pagans.

Was really looking forward to fighting them, too.

Is building a Great Lighthouse supposed to immediately spawn spikes, or did I just get lucky?

Could you please rework Papal AI to excommunicate real sinners instead of going after random mooks? Kinslayers don't get the ban hammer. Murderers don't, and neither do adulterers or the Possessed.

On the other hand, I've seen good, virtuous, sons of the Church get excommunicated; either because the Pope isn't good or virtuous, or because another Ruler came up, hat in hand, and asked the Pope to ban hammer the other guy. Ore maybe the victim was going through a bout of clinical depression....

Please...Real Excommunication need real sinners!

You also don't know who paid the Pope to excommunicate the target.

Dusting off my Old Man Duuk here... I have been known to use the Pope as a weapon all the way back to CK1. I miss the days (and if there is ever another Catholic-focused DLC I would kill to bring back) of the Papal Controller, so you'd KNOW which ruler had the Pope's ear. I used to not only bring down the wrath of God on YOU, but on your heir, all of your smart, good looking kids, their kids, your grandkids... If you annoyed me in a multiplayer game, you needed to be prepared to have GENERATIONS of inbred imbeciles as rulers AND be facing people getting cheap claims and invasions on you due to half of your kingdom being excommunicated and your vassals jumping all over each other.

It was glorious.

Animism
1. rites of passage doesn't appear to work for anyone except the player's (underage) character: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...playing-underage-ruler.1133009/#post-25060421

2. Not a bug (I don't think anyway) but the gold cost for rites are too expensive IMO. The rites bonuses already come with negative effects and are short term so I don't know why there's a third and expensive gold penalty, and why is it the children have to pay instead of the parent? It would be one thing if the child was a ruler.

3. I don't know if it's a bug or WAD but African religion is unable to take animism as doctrine but also doesn't get military bonus from animism. IMO it should be one or the other. https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...ion-doesnt-keep-garrison-troop-bonus.1131422/ edit: I thought for sure there was supposed to be a garrison troop bonus with animism but it's only a morale bonus. regardless it's not active

Ancestor Veneration and Temporal:
1. Temporal head will never be venerated: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...ral-religious-head-cant-be-venerated.1133522/
It should be noted that the mod fix for this is also buggy in the sense that the new temporal head does not get the opinion modifier for venerating a dynasty member.

2. Opinion bonuses derived from veneration don't appear to be consistent from character to character: I have a save where the opinion bonuses range from like +30 to +500 on different characters, all of my dynasty.

Blood of Ragnarr: the two higher tier pirate/viking traits are lost on reload : https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...g-trait-every-time-i-reload-the-game.1159133/

Fetishist mask: not sure if wad or bug but I would prefer if the mask would display only when leading an army. I tried making a mod for this but it's buggy.

Shieldmaidens seem to get maimed whether they are in combat or not: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...vent-outside-of-combat.1151190/#post-25148579

edit: will add to this later.

That's all fine and dandy but if you're playing 769 single player and Catholic MA is tanking because the pope keeps pressing the excomm button, it's probably not a good thing. I haven't experienced this myself because I've been playing pagan since HF dropped, but lots of folks have complained about this.

Bugs I've noticed:
  • Palace level 4 doesn't increase retinue
  • Herb Garden and Tavern didn't proc in 200 years of play
  • Private Conversation doesn't work
  • Add holding slot event fires when there is no room for it
  • Retinue upgrade not being named correctly
  • Honour Guard and Private Conversation not mentioned as upgrades
Other thought bubbles:
  • Wildly different levels of usefulness on the wonders
  • Very fun update :) Thank you Paradox

MA tanks because of raiding and adventurers, not Papal excommunications. Hover over the MA breakdown and you'll see it pretty clearly.

The death spiral goes like this:

Raids + Adventurers = Low Authority = Heresies -> Heretic Revolts -> Weak Catholic Rulers -> Lost Holy Wars -> Even Lower MA -> More Heresies -> Rinse -> Repeat

Looting by raiders / adventurers needs to not reduce MA.

I can not believe the game-losing pregnancy bug is still in the game after all of these months (Since Holy Fury release) if a husband dies before his pregnant wife gives birth the child is born under his wife's dynasty.

Please for the love of god fix this

I thought they fixed it this patch...

People keep saying it's about Pagans or something, but I've had it happen a few times as well with Western Europe and North Africa being entirely Abrahamic religions. So it can't be that.
