Which of these characters have new bloodlines and what bonuses do they give?
Why wait until Friday when we can recklessly speculate now?

We see that all the new characters except Otto have the red bloodline icon, so they all have a bloodline. Presumably Zoltan and Hakon have the pre-existing bloodlines (Arpad/Attila and Ragnar), but the Fatimid, Qarmatian and Athelstan bloodlines are new, so that's at least three. If they're giving the Fatimids one, the Umayyads and Abbasids may get ones as well. And there is always the possibility of Otto getting one by event if he e.g. forms the HRE (much like William the Conqueror and Arpad only get theirs if they succeed in an invasion in 1066/867 respectively).

Also - Poland in 966 was baptised - will it be represented in any form of narrative event or something rather than pure randomness? Also in the year 1000 there was a Congress of Gniezno, where Polish king was crowned by Otto III and for a moment, historians argue, Poland became part of the HRE (well, it was purely symbolical, but still...). It would be strange to start playing in 936 and see Poland for the rest of the game stay slavic, just like it's possible in the earlier bookmarks.
I disagree. It would not be strange at all. The reason Poland was baptized was to stop the raids of the christians who used religion as an excuse for conquest (like everyone else in the middle ages would). In ck2, the world could become completely different and there would be no sense for having a narrative event.

Also, I hate railroading like this so I'm strongly opposed anyway. (the events at the Charlemagne bookmark are fine though as they cover things that were already unveiling as you start playing). If the player wants catholic Poland, they should work for it.

I can see a potentially huge problem with the Fatimids that's been plaguing it for a long time now - moral authority. All shia holy sites are far away from their caliphate and it's very likely that in most of the games in this new bookmark, the Fatimids will never reach any of them.

I think Hungary need some love from you...(some provinces specially -- my suggestions from past https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/a-new-few-improvements.1147679/#post-25212858 -- I make there also one map with province sugestions)...
then I think, that Bohemia should own also Árva/Orava (that province in northern Slovak region) too
Spis should be probably independent chief -- (Hungarians did not go to mountainous region in upper Slovakia in that time, it is also one reson, why they did not pillage Poland, or if only little bit)

I am really looking forward to the new start date.

Wouldn't one way of representing the weird Republic that the Qarmatian had would be to have that heresy unlock Elective Succession?

Will this patch fix the non-bastard father genetics bug?

I very genuinely have no idea.

Will this update add new unit models? For example, French/Occitan units. I don't remember if Magyar had their own unique models, it would be fun.

It will not.

What about Qarmatian's effects in EU4 after save conversion?

Good question, I'll bring it up, as I am not sure if anyone has thought about this yet.

Isn't it a time to overhaul gameplay in indian subcontinet?

Maybe, but that isn't really what the bookmark is about.

Hungary is something I'd like to update at some point, but there's no time to do that right now.

Is it correct that bulgaria is an emperor tier? And why are the ummayads white?

Yes. And because they hold a special Caliphal Emperor title.

I am really looking forward to the new start date.

Cool suggestion, I'll keep it in mind.

Will Dyrrachion have Arberian culture?

If I recall correctly, yes.

Bulgarian ruler Simeon the Great was recognised Emperor by the Ecumenical Patriarch in 913. Soon after ERE tried to revoke the concession, but after Simeon's succesful wars concluded in 927 ERE definitively recognised Bulgarian Tsar as Basileus.

Given that it's been only 9 years since Simeon's death and Bulgaria is still in it's Golden Age, I think there is no question that Bulgaria should be Imperial.

I'm curious if this bookmark will have story events similar to those in the Charlemagne bookmark, given that Otto is identified as a "protagonist" and all.

Will Otto have his own event chain? And will he use the classic Form the HRE decision or something special?
