Hi folks!

Tomorrow is the release day for Monks and Mystics and, of course, the 2.7 patch - exciting times! Now, we've already covered the new features pretty well, so... how about a Q&A? Unleash your questions about everything CK!

(Oh, and don't miss the livestreams later today, 16:00 CET as usual!)

Will you clean up the files and make sure every file is up to date and balance all DLC to each other before ending the development?

E.g. Will you actually fix broken dynasties in the game, add basic rulers to counties which have none in 1066 and later? Will you remove events or update events that still have outdated eventchecks such as the old holy order events before SoA? Will next DLC be a major major house cleaner?

Or do you hold your stand that people won't notice / care because they only go for CM and 867 start dates anyways?

Broken dynasties should of course be fixed whenever found, especially in the bookmarks (I regard them as bugs.) The old Holy Order events are due for a health check, but I can't promise that the next expansion will fix everything.

Do you have any plans to make Empires less stable? Would you consider replacing elective successions with a "sede vacante" and an actual election, where you would have to bribe/make promises to the electors etc?

Are you still planning only one more major dlc/expansion before CK2 development is finished, or do you think there would be enough interest (both internally in features you'd want to make and externally in customers willing to purchase more) to continue into the future?

Earlier it was stated that you where planning 2 more expansions for CK2, one big and one small. Was this the big expansion or the small? And is this still the plan within PDS meaning that we can only expect one more DLC for this magnificent game?

I'll return to this subject in an upcoming dev diary.

I think others can give a more detailed and fleshed out answer. But from what I can recall, naming this game Crusader Kings was considered a big mistake as the name somewhat constrained the ambitions of it. So the second thing you say there is probably what's closest to the truth :)

Looking back at it now, what name would Paradox have preferred to use?

Less stable empires have been discussed.

1) Will we be able to marry according to our true faith if were are a member of a religious minority secret society or will we be restricted to our professed faith?

2) is there any chance that Orthodox Christianity could have Holy Site in Kiev or elsewhere in the Russian sphere. Right now Orthodoxy lives and dies with the Byzantine Empire. The Russians should have a site of their own to defend.

What about counties and base titles not having a ruler on later bookmarks? E.g. India have a lot of issues with this.

I can make you a detailed list if you want.

I posted this in another thread but I meant to post it here:

How long do cults last? Until the last member or does the cult leader have to be forced to dissolve it?

Also were the distance-based events fixed? Ex: playing as Finnish pagans in central Finland, the Empress of the HRE came to visit and spent the night and became my friend. It doesn't make sense for the Emperor or much less the Empress to go from Central Germany to pagan central Finland during the early Middle Ages and camp out there.

Do you know many people love your games, and they make our existence a happier one? Even if we argue and complain, it's often because it's some of us very much care about a game that has become a bit of a thing in our lives. Seriously, if anybody in the team doesn't feel our love and appreciation, please, let them know from us!

Thanks, really appreciate that!

Thanks for doing this Q&A! Two(ish) questions:

Will we be able to bring our secret societies out into the open? Will we be able to turn "evil" worship into a public religion? If not, do you think that's something you might patch in, or will you leave it for mods?

I absolutely love the more fantastic elements of the game, and very much hope to see more. Is there any chance of another fantasy DLC like Sunset Invasion? It feels so very doable now, with the game rules filter.

I'd pre-order Crusader Kings 3, or "Fantasy Kings 1," or whatever it is you follow up CK2 with right now. More, please!

Can you use the Secret Religious Cults to bring back religions that are technically extinct or near-extinct at later start dates (Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Norse, Paganism, even Hellenism) ?

What's the trigger for a secret religion to form? Can they be permanently wiped out or can characters with certain focuses like theology rediscover them?

As in, is there going to be crypto-pagans or crypt-Zoroastrians creeping around Scandinavia and Persia in later dates? Could a Christian/Muslim character take an interest in the paganism of their culture while studying theology?

Is the Asasiyun questline going to be jam-packed with Assassin's Creed references, or only partially packed with Assassin's Creed references? :p

Are Sufis and/or Bektashis included as holy orders in game?

Will there be a few opportunities for secret heresy on release, or are these mostly going to be added in. Mostly thinking of things like Lollards and Cathars. Secret Cathars has got to be a thing! :p

EDIT: Also, I'm sure you didn't expect this, but can we go full Spanish Inquisition? How much room is there for a proper witch hunt if a zealous ruler finds witches and heretics at court?

A answer for my question in the patch thread would be welcome.
I didn't read anything about toning down elective factions and fixing claimant faction you guys mentioned in a dev stream.
I know it's not a question per definition but still something I am curious of.

Do you plan any measures to tighten the difficulty of the game for experienced players? Because conclave opinion maluses got nerfed with NAPs and many difficult situations don't even appear when you know how to avoid it in the beginning. The simple difficulty setting only effects battle outcomes and game rules also nerf the AI. Often so much that harder game rules make the game more difficult for the AI than for the player (half demesne/VL).

It says that there will be new clothes/outfits for those in the orders, and I have seen a screenshot of a cultist of some demonic sort - will we be able to see who is in a society, just from their clothes - I mean, it seems easy to spot the one vassal with a goat-mask!
How does these new outfits work? Will it only be vissible, if you share society?

Couldn't have said it better myself, this game is by far the most appealing (to me) and complete game I have ever played. Perhaps the one game I can never grow tired of. If it was up to me I'd have them adding new content to it for as long as possible. I have literally put thousands of hours into this game, quite a huge chunk of my free time since the game was released. I for one am not particularly interested in the idea of CK3, CK2 leaves nothing to be desired and these DLC expansions (not to mention the amazing modding community) only increase my appetite for the game. Chapeau to each and every member of the development team.
