CK3 Dev Diary #91: Update 1.5.1.1

Howdy all!

Surprise! Update 1.5.1.1 is ready ahead of time and ready for you all to download and start enjoying immediately. This came ahead of schedule and we just couldn't wait for everyone to see it.

The biggest thing we would like to add at this time is a huge and hearty thank you for your patience and understanding while we were working to gather all the feedback and suggestions that were provided by the Community. Your reports helped identify the areas that we needed to address and give our attention to for this Update. Most of the reported issues from this Update were things reported by the Community, which is super helpful for us and the Dev Team in tracking your wants and needs as a Community

So, without much further ado, here is the Change Log for Update 1.5.1.1

###################
# Game Balance
###################
- Vassals can no longer join factions if they have a Truce with their liege

###################
# Localization
###################
- Fixed missing text and tooltips for Cultural Traditions and Cultural Aesthetics in Spanish
- Fixed county title macros in Korean
- Fixed missing translations for the south Asian event pool
- Fixed inspired person text not being translated in Korean

###################
# User Modding
###################
- Fixed a crash in the map editor
- Tree mask assets should now be visible again in the map editor

###################
# Other fixes
###################
- Fix law tooltips in tooltips not showing up correctly
- Fixed an issue that caused the Coat of Arms designer to repeat the same patterns if players were scrolling up and down the list
- Fixed an issue that caused the game to sometimes incorrectly display your custom Coat of Arms for other dynasties
- Fixed a rare crash that occurred when the AI was forming a new hybrid culture
- Fix text offset for icons in law tooltip
- Fixed Aslaug, daughter of Ivar the Boneless, being married instead of betrothed at age 1
- Fixed CTD happening on loading a save after rejecting a culture conversion request.
- Holy Orders can no longer raise themselves in wars without a hostile faith participant, even if they are somehow allied in the war
- Renaming event description now targets other characters properly
- Fixed Ivars sons being older than himself in the bookmark screen
- Fixed missing key for culture conversion interaction
- Added correct naming of new eye socket types in the Customize Appearance menu

- Turkish Eagle achievement should now fire again for new saves
- Adjusted triggers and localisation for 'Establish the Theravada Faith' decision and event chain
- Fixed some unnatural looking shadows in certain court room setups

Because you're doing one thing without worrying about the interactions between the one thing you're fixing and the whole rest of the game.
And it was on a simpler game that's doing less at any one time.

Plus you can take as much time as you feel like it needs, rather than needing to implement 50 things in a day - and you're not handing testing off to a testing department who then have to test a couple of hundred things in a day, and may not be practically able to test all of them in every combination in the available time.
This sounds like a reasonable response - in theory.

However, take the marshal events. They either trigger, or they don't - there's not much else to it. It's obvious nobody tested this, even though they've had two or three shots (depending on whether the information that the second patch still didn't fix them is correct or not). Why? What you wrote may explain some things, but not this one, unfortunately. :(

Is it just me, or has the AI gotten more active in creating empire titles in this patch?

Barely a decade in, and places like Francia, Carpathia, Maghreb, Deccan and 'West Slavia' are already appearing in my game.

German version: Weapon name macros are completely messed up now during duel events in German language version.

Edit:
Also Council action to train army leaders still doesn't work.

I'm pretty sure Bjarmian has the wrong heritage? The people in the region spoke various Finnic and Saamic languages and the Norse described them as like the Sami but sedentary. So why do they have Ugro-Permian heritage?

It would be interesting to hear at what stage the developers are going to equalize the versions of the game of the PC and console, correct the errors already existing (especially localization errors), which are constantly talked about even before the royal court, why do fashion developers correct the errors with their modes faster than game developers?

Because modders don't have any obligations, so they can push changes out any time they want, as often as they want.

They don't have to get management to sign off on an update (and it's worth noting that console official stores are a lot more restrictive about update frequency than Steam is).

They don't have to file corporate change management paperwork.

They don't have to confirm who's on call to investigate serious issues arising.

I'm not sure it's quite as you say.

We can't really know the internal workings of Paradox with any certainty, but if a company that has a number of salaried full-time employees specifically to work on the game is unable to match the productive output of unpaid lone (usually) hobbyists sitting at home tapping away on their keyboard, then that company has some serious issues with their internal processes and governance.

To say the least! :D

Bureaucracy increases much faster than you'd expect, and the more things that are being worked on at once, the worse it gets. :p

I have a bug that needs fixing. Can you fix the bug where your Brother, who has a 100 opinion of you tires to blackmail you during the war you are *aiding* him in to defend *his* crown by threatening to reveal that you have a lover, who you already have 4 acknowledged children with, 2 of whom have already been legitimized. A war I should mention that he *can not win* with out your troops. That was super super annoying. I am of course talking about King Lothaire of Lotharingia.

You should make a bug report in the bug reports subforum. :)
