Things are getting busy at the office with the upcoming release of Europa Universalis IV, but as has been said before, we're still very much committed to the continued support and further expansion of Crusader Kings II. With Doomdark currently Down Under, Johan asked me to put together a short dev diary highlighting some of the current stuff we've been working on.

Patch 1.11:
1.11 will be deployed next week, and the new patch will include a few features that should make dealing with plots a bit easier. After hatching a plot, you can now tell the game to automatically invite all plotters who are willing to join your scheme. No more having to browse through the Potential Plotters list and individually sending requests to every single character who wants to join!

Also, you can now set the game to always demand that characters end their plots as soon as they come to your attention. Another handy addition is that you can now see at a glance which potential plotters can be won over to your side if they are bribed.

Among the other things added is a new Siege Leader trait (finally), a favorite IP table for the multiplayer menu and some additional support for modders.

Crusader Kings II to Europa Universalis IV Converter:
Johan already posted a dev diary about the Converter last week in the Europa Universalis IV forum, and there is an interview with Groogy here that goes into some more detail. I don't have much to add except that we're pretty pleased with the result and it actually works better than we had anticipated when development began.

Customizer:
This is a smaller DLC on the scale of the Ruler Designer, but it's something that many have asked for. It will give players an easy way to customize several items in their games when they are already well underway.

You can have your character pay a visit to the barber, where their hairstyle or facial hair can be altered... within reason (no bearded women, sorry). Below you can see the new look I gave King Charles II the Not-So-Bald:

You can rename any title held by you or your vassals:

Finally, if you feel the need to shake things up a bit, you can alter the name and shield of your dynasty:

Hopefully this will tide you over for a while, until we're ready to tell you more about what the future will bring to Crusader Kings II. :)

I hope the Balts are finally able to form the Wendish empire and rename it now. Finns and the empires that surround them too. I'm pretty sure now whenever I form Britannia as Anglo-Saxons I'll call it "Aenglaland" like in the Winter King mod, though I'll have to look up alternate names for other realms. This also opens up the possibility of conquering the Byzantine empire as the Norse and renaming it something like Miklagard or Miklagardariki.

They already ban quite a few topics of discussion in the forum rules. I really think they should consider adding "DLC bitching" to the list. It gets awful tiring.

You might have noticed that a fair fraction of what you are disparagingly labelling as "DLC bitching" is or contains valuable feedback, e.g. several people are saying that they feel this DLC is currently a bit bare, but they would likely buy it if it were more fleshed out, by adding a few additional customization options (e.g. customize country colors).

Why would a company want to censor/ban their own customer base providing constructive feedback on their products is beyond me.
We are basically telling them what we would like to spend our money on. It is possible that a few minor options added to the DLC will cause a few percent increase in sales, you know.

Oh my gosh, my head just exploding reading all these small but awesome changes!!! No freakin way, you can seriously rename your dynaasty, title and get a haircut? This game should be game of the year. Speechless.

This DLC is too bare to be worth anything above £1.

what should be added:

Dynasty fracturing - ie one branch renaming itself and declaring itself a new dynasty
if a dynasty is renamed by the player to affect the entire dynasty, the AI should be able to deny the change of the CoA or name
Country/empire/duchy colour changing (surely this is not hard if you're already hotfixing the empire name..)
Changing the CoA for kingdoms or duchies within the realm
Different Clothes or Hats.
Renaming Armies (It's available in EU3 & V2.)

Edit: I mean, so far this mod is for people too lazy to edit the localisation file, so you may as well add stuff that couldn't be added by mods.

Yeah. You're wrong. EUIV would have a population system if they planned an easy conversion to Victoria 3.
Well then following your logic, CK2 to EUIV converter is impossible because CK2 is character based and EU IV is not. Yet they do it.

The population here has nothing to do with the possibility to convert from EU IV to Victoria 3, everything is possible in IT world, it has to do with developing costs and marketing reasons. It rather depends on Paradox available programming resources and the logic of general cross-games-brand synergy, but that is off topic already.
To me it is just very appealing how Paradox tries to link their games with each other and make updates in such a way that CK2 and EUIV become real `brothers`. Wonderful marketing move.

Think of it:
1) pre-order EU IV get free CK 2 for free (that is how hey got me)
2) Own CK 2, get EU IV, convert your saves, so you actually play 2 games, but 1 storyline (in sandbox!)
3) Get and play EU IV because it as good as CK 2 is, and CK 2 is a prequel to EU IV (CK2-EUIV associations, not EU3-EUIV associations)

I do have a feeling that we have already stepped in a new Paradox era with Rome 2 - CK 2 - EU 4 - Victoria 3 - HOI 4 linkages being a sort of synchro-plan.
In any case just my thoughts generated by patch release ;)

This'll definitely come in useful.

Still looking forward to the upcoming Crusader Kings Z myself.

I'm saying that if they were planning for a EUIV-Victoria3 converter, they would have had a population feature to make it easier. They might still make one but I don't think they are planning it.

Altering the sheild will be useful for me, since for some reason the Fatimid's now have a purple/ white christian shield (old save, patched current and new COA's for all muslims

Will also be renaming the HRE and Byzantine Empire to 'the Holy Roman Empire' and 'the Byzantine Empire

April fools ploy, it appears that's never coming.

As long as that isn't "...the DLC everyone's expecting". I shudder. I 'd like both though.

I am so excited for this. My Wendish Empire can change to the preferred Bohemian Empire.

So curious question, after renaming a realm, and it get usurped by another, will the name stick or will it revert to default? For example, if the "northwest francia" gets conquered by another, will their empire be called nw francia or back to the original west francia?
