Wow. Rikard and Jamie, I really appreciate the dreams and hopes you've both placed here. The stars were also a huge influence in my life. I grew up with my grandfather pointing out celestial objects in the night sky at his lake shore cottage outside of the light pollution of the city. He once pointed into the sky and asked if I could see a cloudy fuzzy patch in the North East. That fuzzy patch, he explained, was the Andromeda Galaxy. "That is not a cloud." He explained. "It's the light of Billions of stars. Billions...with a 'B'" he emphasized. That is my first memory feeling a sense of awe and wonder with the universe. Video games are often a way for me to celebrate the impact of space in my life; but a game like Stellaris becomes so much more meaningful when I know that those who have created it and nuture its growth share similar inspiration from the cosmos. I really appreciate you both sharing your love of the stars and the inspiration of science fiction like Star Wars. Glad to know that while exploring the Stellaris universe, we are all exploring our own inspiration of the actual universe. -M

How come the Planet header art from the first screenshot never made it into the final game? That art looked LIT! 11/10 would colonise.

Thanks for your work Zoft, though I don't know you or knew it was you, clearly someone or someones were putting their heart into Stellaris because it captured mine. It's the space game I always wanted.
It's also nice to know there's someone else who is awed by the sheer scale of the universe and our potential future in it. :)
Thanks again and good luck with your other projects, hope my purchase/DLC money went to buying your last beer, you earned it!

Hi Jamie, welcome aboard and good luck!

Welcome, welcome, welcome, @Jamor! I look forward to seeing Stellaris continue to change and grow. I'm sure you'll find we all have a lot to say on what Stellaris can and should be, but don't worry, we're not quite as raucous as we may seem at first glance. Ultimately, I'm willing to trust you and the rest of the Stellaris team to make the right decisions...

Okay, but seriously, first priority, find some way to bring back the lovely old "enslave" sound. :p

Goodbye, Zoft. Thank you so much for your contributions to this excellent game!

Welcome, Jamie!

That first image has a pretty serious moo2 vibe.

VICTORIA 3 CONFIRMED!

Hopefully not too soon.. I'm still learning Victoria 2 ;)

Hello @Jamor! I look forward to seeing what and the rest of the Paradox folks come up with!

I do hope you give us mecha and Jedi like stuff in Stellaris in the near future! I'm also a huge Star Wars fan too so I'm hoping more Star Wars like stuff ends up in Stellaris!

Can't wait to see where this game is headed GL&HF Jamie i am sure you will be a great lead

Hopefully not too soon.. I'm still learning Victoria 2 ;)
even better, the less you've learned about Vicy 2 the less you'll need to unlearn in order to play Vicy 3 and all the changes it will likely have!

Jamie, using your introduction as a preview gauge to your character it seems to me you'll do the project and it's players proud. Rikard, you'll be missed on the project greatly but onwards and upwards and all that.

So long and thanks for all the fish great work !

Cool to see the old screenshots. Welcome and thanks to both of you (esp. the Canuck, eh). It's already come a long way since release, and looking forward to many more years of Stellaris being expanded and further improved.

Since you have just taken over this project, will there be in the futere in the end game the ability to travel to diffrenet galaxies and start colonizing there to keep expansion and discorvey relevent in the end game?

You helped craft a remarkable gem. Stellaris has its detractors. Here's my perspective reality: over 500 hours, done holding a full time job. This is testament to its wonder. I had never tried Paradox games prior to Stellaris, the other titles are good (as a Brit we're all stirred up with this Brexit malarky - EU4 gives some welcome historical perspective to European change), but whilst these might have become mistresses too, Stellaris I wish to be my wife.
