Only 6? That's rough, considering that Power Plant IVs will have 5 and benefit from the Energy Grid/Nexus, tile bonuses and adjacency bonuses.
Ehhhh, maybe some more things were changed...
...look forward to the next Dev Diary.
;)

Well, when you have calmed down we might be able to talk properly about this.

Energy grids in habitats confirmed?
Actually - no.
But I think the galactic community has finally figured out how to put Mineral Silos on Habitats (if that change actually made it in).

A silo? For storage?
Uh...I don't think I've ever built a single one of those in any of my playthroughs.
I never use them in my games either.

Anyway: To avoid further forum tandrums, I'll let this be the last piece of "insider info" for now.
You'll get all the info with the next dev diary anyway.

Megastructures actually sound worse off with this patch. The problem is with the one per empire and it still requiring perk points to build. [...]
They may sound worse to you, but they will actually be much more powerful, since they can now:
(a) be obtained consistently with much less RNG.
(b) provide much higher yields much earlier.

You can think of Galactic Wonders as a tempo perk, akin to Mastery of Nature. MoN has no significant effect outside of the early / early mid game, and yet it is a popular pick.

[...] Are you honestly saying that any of these are comparable to +1 Leader level Erudite gives? [...]
No, I was saying: "[...] the gap has gotten quite a bit smaller."

Stellaris already does have a mechanic that does lead to diminishing returns and is one of the only reason to build nexuses. The more planets and population you have, the more science is required for each tech. The Nexus provides a way of producing science without increasing the science costs.
There is also Consumer Goods - they become very costly as an empire starts to grow in size.

So depending on how large your empire is, a Science Nexus doesn't just equal 750 science plus some extra science speed, but also easily saves you an extra 50-100 M and 100 E per month, plus it has a positive effect on your unity cost.

There's a little too much personal hostility flying around in this thread right now. I'm going to ask that everyone keep it civil or some moderation will occur.
