Hello everyone and welcome to another Stellaris development diary. Today is the third week of post-Synthetic Dawn 'filler' dev diaries, as mentioned in Dev Diary 88. Regular dev diaries return on October 26th.

As we don't have anything in particular to talk about this week, I'm just going to give you another brief update on 1.8 post-launch support: We released the 1.8.2 update yesterday, with all the fixes from the 1.8.1 beta as well as some additional fixes and tweaks.

There has been a couple of script issues reported in 1.8.2 related to Devouring Swarms, Exterminators and Purifiers (missing tooltips and opinion modifiers) that we are going to look at and likely publish a fix for, but other than that we feel like we have now addressed all important issues reported in 1.8 and 1.8.1 and so will be wrapping up 1.8 post-launch support if no other critical issues are found in the live build.

As before, I'm going to sign off this dev diary with a screenshot, this one taken on the galaxy map in the internal development build, where everything clearly looks the same as it always has and there certainly aren't any significant changes being prototyped that I can't yet talk about. See you next week!

Hi Wiz

We were talking in the discord today about this and this could get tricky for war claims

Really want to suggest revamping how you make war demands. Would be great if you could just click on a system, like you would with sector management, to make your war demands. This'd be huge for QOL with this style of system claiming.

I think what you're asking is.

"Hi, can you change how the speed of the game works? I want it to change automatically from maximum speed at the galaxy view, to normal speed when I got into the system view. I want this to happen without me having to change anything in the top right corner."

Unfortunately, If I'm understanding correctly, I have to say. "No way." Because that would make Multiplayer have constant speed changes, which would be frustrating.
You should genuinely get a job as a translator. That was impressive.

Hi guys, I'm afraid I'm experiencing a super major problem with the new update. All the AI empires are bombarding primitive empires. Every single one. Even when they built observation stations, they still bombard them till death. Why are they all just, killing the primitives? They aren't even xenophobic empires at all so its unsettling.

Sorry if i m rude, but this feedback has already benn post, check the page 2.

I have a question. An old bug about getting negative warscore for destroying Frontier Outposts and Spacports is back? Or it was always there, but just not for everyone? I played a lot of FP til 1.8.2 and didn't encounter it. Started as Assimilators in 1.8.2 and it's right here.

Not a bug. Warscore from battles is about stuff lost. Stations give very little and if you lose some ships you get negative warscore. Phyrric victory basically.

I'd argue that it's not a bug but definitely an example of a mechanic that needs tuning. Frontier outposts should be worth more than their fleet power in warscore, as should spaceports.

One small change that will be huge would be...

When you push <TAB> key it should cycle though planets in your list and not the systems. Viewing systems is pretty useless and it could be a fast way of managing planets. Also, when you click into a sector planet, tab then cycles though that sector's planet list instead of your current list.

This will make it a lost faster to cycle though the planets instead of needing to click on the small planet icon or manually cycle though them.

I think they were all set to zero a while back because it made it too easy to scum for warscore without actually fighting. Especially before they fixed the AI constantly rebuilding its stations while enemy ships were in orbit... but even now you can trick it into rebuilding and then go blow up the half-built station again before it's finished.

But it could make a difference then the Spaceport is still a main asset. You manage to finally take it down, but it give you a -(5-9) warscore?
