Basically, you can't just dump out 500K soldiers into the field w/o guns. If you don't have some guns in the stockpile (i.e. the divisions have enough guns, positive number of guns in stockpile, not just re-templated and short of equipment) you can't start Anschluss before 1 Jul 1937. So, if you have 500K troops in the field, and they are full up on guns, you can pull the trigger on Anschluss, otherwise you'll have to wait till 7/1/37.

That's how I interpret it. And yes, should slow the 'start training a bunch of small divisions, dump them into the field and then re-template to a bigger division to hit 500K quickly' trick.
That's the intent. However as of the beta it doesn't actually work. 71Cloak did an excellent breakdown of the issue on youtube:

tl;dw - you can still do it simply by excluding your new divisions from drawing any equipment from the stockpile.

At least they know about it, while still in open beta. They will probably figure a tighter way this patch or maybe the next.

In my opinion, air supply should deliver (at least some) fuel. Both Rommel's retreat after the Battle of El Alamein and the Stalingrad encirclement were supplied fuel by the Luftwaffe. Probably not efficiently, but without the air delivery of fuel, Rommel's Afrikakorps wouldn't have been able to retreat.

I think the rework tree should be reviewed. Usa certain approaches should be reviewed. For example, the approach of the OSS should not be exclusive for any democratic branch it chooses, whether you choose a more active or passive action.

Unfortunately, the game is designed around mandatory submarine grinding. Those get you traits super fast compared to surface actions.

Does anyone know if you grind submariner traits faster if your admiral commands:

1. 1 stack of 40 subs or
2. 10 stacks of 4 subs

?

Can you please look into Turan and Ottoman cores as well? There are only couple of lines mistakes to fix/or just add, that I can post here.

Turan misses some cores and Ottoman core decisions are tiny bit messy, like Cairo being under totally unrelated eyalet decision.

Ottoman core fixes: (Left side is my fixes)
1. Cairo (903) removed from "ott_extend_the_lasha_eyalet" and Madinah (679) added again (its Arabia so) and double cores fixed: (Cairo is totally unrelated to this region)
cairo.png
2. Cairo (903) added to "ott_integrate_the_khedivate_of_egypt": (fix)
cairo2.png
3. Lebanon (553) added under "ott_restore_the_vilayet_of_halep": (better gameplay)
lebanon.png
4. Crimea (137) and Kherson (196) cores are added under NEW "ott_absorb_crimea_eyalet": (This is bonus by me I think should be added because of Crimean Tatars)
crimea.png
5. I also added claim to Eritrea (550) under "ott_merge_the_eyalets_of_jeddah_habesh_and_yemen" because Ottomans had colonies there.

These tiny fixes (1-2-3 especially) can make Ottomans consistent finally.

I agree but the Transport Aircraft and mechanics would need to be expanded upon before doing this I think. There were many different sizes and types of Transport Aircraft. Some could carry heavier and bigger things. They could also evacuate men and supplies. And when capturing an Airfield they could fly in stuff much more effectively than when just parachuting stuff. Big difference between those two things.

Would like the Devs to implement this stuff.

Turan core fixes:
1. Added requirements and missing cores: Karagandy (881), Pavlodar (882) (New Kazak core states) + forgotten Turkic states: Ufa (651), Kazan (249), Chuvashia (256)
turanco.png

2. Added states that ARE cored BUT missing from requirements: Hatay (799), Baghdad (291), Chechnya-Ingushetia (821), Abkhazia (826), Kabardino-Balkaria (827), North Ossetia (828), Kirensk (575), Chukchi Peninsula (875)
turan1.pngturan2.png

3. Remove this please:
controls_state = 570
controls_state = 571
Novosibirsk (570) and Omsk (571) are not coreable and just not necessary to be part of such huge requirement list:

4. Added "add_ideas = soldiers_of_the_steppe"
I think Turan should have this cavalry bonus of Turkestan formable.

5. Turanist assimilation fixes:
a. Hungary/Romania: Crisana (83), Moldova (79) and Southern Besserabia (766) are missing here: (There are many Gagauz in Moldova)
gggz.png
b. China: Mengkukuo's new core Ordos (746) is missing here:
ordd.png
c. Finland: Aland (145) is missing
alan.png

BONUS: Turkestan formable nation also misses Karagandy (881) and Pavlodar (882). Please fix it too.

Not really. You can still train a bunch of 1 Battalion units and switch them. You just have to switch them to a template with no-equipment allowed (uncheck all the boxes).

Some aspect of the beta patch seem to be working as advertised (e.g., faster air training and accident rates), but there seem to be some issues. For instance, Poland is now messed up. In the past, the AI was picking a very odd path through the tree leading to a lot of negative neutrality modifiers and wild, non-historic fluctuations in party popularity. But the govt in exile switched to Sikorski. Later on, the Prepare for the inevitable focus switched him to someone else seemingly at random, so as often as not Poland ended up with the wrong head of state. But now, there is no transition at all, and the pre-war president continues to lead the government in exile. This was not an improvement... It would be nice if this could finally be fixed (of course, the transition from Sikorski is also a bit odd since Sikorski was prime minister and commander-in-chief of the govt-in-exile until his death in 1943 while Raczkiewicz was president during the entire war).

Also, Churchill now does not seem to like giving any speeches. In my test playthrough as the US, the first one came only in October 1940!

EDIT: I looked a little more in detail at Poland, and I noticed that it now is called Sanacja Poland. However, Sanacja generally refers to the time period 1926-1939, and not a political party. Pilsudski, who was the key figure in establishing an independent Poland n 1918-1919, and a socialist at the time. He was originally a democrat and despite being the obvious "father of a nation" figure he relinquished power. But he was very disappointed in the chaotic and fragmented parliament and political "dysfunction," and carried out a coup in which he effectively took charge, even though he did not formally hold an office. The party that was established was BBWR, the non-party block for cooperation with the government, which was quite popular and gave Pilsudski and his successors significant influence in parliament (in particular attracting many of the left-wing voters who remembered Pilsudskis history in the polish socialist party PPS). But the parliament remained very fragmented. For instance, there i addition to the peasant party PSL, which is represented in the game, there were two democratic socialist parties (PPS and the mostly Jewish Bund) in addition to a very small communist party (PPR) that can be banned by focus in the game. On the right was the main party were the so-called nationalists ND, who despite their name were traditionally pro-Russian and were remembered by many as former Tsarist collaborators during the partition era. They were also the long-standing opponent of Pilsudski and his western-oriented cohorts. All-in-all, the political scene was quite complicated and is not well represented in the game, perhaps in part because it only looks at the last three years after Piludski's death in 1935 without having researched the context. However, the term sanacja was supposed to mean a transitional period of national "healing," and while it in its context was the usual excuse to impose authoritarian rule (although not a dictatorship like in many other countries at the time), it makes no sense for a government-in-exile that was strongly aligned with Britain.

A gouvernment-in-exile path can be added to Yugoslavia and Greece but it needed a mechanism of competing political movements that can eclipse the government in exile (in the Yugoslavian case, Chetniks and Communists)

Maybe it is just bad luck because i have not looked into the event files, but the French Latin-Entente path seems to be broken because Italy always refuses to join the faction after the focus. And they are not willing to accept manually, even at maxed relations, because "-50 Great Power".

The Italian AI will only accept the compensation event if it's Monarchist or Grandi Alternate Fascist, not on historical.

Sort of like on historical, the Dutch trade decision doesn't do squat for you as Germany. Waste of PP.

Perhaps we should gather up these things that are known to not work on historic, or only in certain conditions, and get them labeled, or get a list compiled somewhere.

@PDXKatten
There are still bugs in the beta with the tank icons:

- New game 1936, Germany (no mods of course)
- console "research_on_icon_click" research 1938 medium tank, "xp 500"
- In Tank designer add a close support gun (Auto design button is greyed out btw, seems to be a bug) and save

After saving it looks like this:

1681118537961.png

The icon seems to be a "Grille" which is not a Medium Tank and not a "Panzer III" and that icon is not the "best match" (at least not in any metric of "good" I can imagine)

The game has so many beautiful tank icons. Would be a shame to not use them properly.

//Edit:
If you do the focus "Treaty with the USSR" you get two Tank designs for a Panzer III and a Panzer IV.
These designs don't use the "best match" icon. Maybe it would be a good start to call the icon these 2 designs use the best match for a 1938 Medium:

Thank you for letting me know about this! Would you be able to create a bug report about it? ^^
