Sorry, it's the main TRI menu screen when you first choose single player, etc. I should have said "paper pusher" instead of dork.
BTW, can you identify the little dork standing next to Hitler and the big guy on the right? I've never seen that photo published anywhere. Thanks.
Sorry to let the both of you down but, for strange as it might seem, I'm not omniscient :laugh:Oh you mean the main screen. Don't know but Titan knows for sure - just wait until he is back.
...(a LOT of aircraft views)
Titan said:By the way, should someone know the name of the two other soldiers, please ID them - same for the date (I'd say the picture had been taken in 1944 but I'm not sure).
Titan said:Excellent...!!! This is simply unbelievable... thank you so much for all those links, they are of invaluable importance.
rosseau said:Thanks Major. I am downloading your pics. I would not have wanted to meet Alfred in a trench. Looks like a big guy.
You're welcome... I've started to work on these icons in late 2005, so you can understand my satisfaction when people show their appreciation for this pack! With more icons coming, this one should stay on top of the AoD mod list for some time. Well deserved, thank you.
MaybeGeneral der Pioniere Alfred Jacob on far right ( L146 in HoI ). maybe you should use my colour pics. you would have known then

At least June, 1943 then. Judging by AH's rather oldish look, however, I keep thinking that the snapshot has been taken in (late?) 1944.EDIT: as for the date you should be close at least, Titan:

please take a look at the post of "Bernhard H. Holst" in this thread.
You and Manfred have proven to be the most proficient image searchers around... I take the chance to thank the both of you again, bestmajor and manfred, for your extraordinary contribution to the Tripartite Pack - very, very appreciated!EDIT2:
yes Manfred is a good searcher, i can confirm this!
No problem, don't worry: there's nothing for me to feel upset about! You were very kind to explicitly ask me for permission - not everyone behaves this way, you know... and, besides, could I ever be "angry" after all the help you gave me in finding aircraft/land images for this mod?(@ Titan: just one post, i'm not hijacking your thread)
(...)
thanks Titan, i appreciate your tolerance(1st and last time)

Titan said:Thanks for the ID! I guess that the Colonel will stay unnamed, though? (albeit that's of minor importance)
Gen. Jacobs was awarded the Knightscross to the War Merit Cross with date of 4.June 1943 so the date of the photo would be subsequent to that date.
Thanks for the tip but, as you well know, I'm in the "do it myself" phasethanks, maybe you should ask manfred for a USA improvement package? he has a good one.
Thank you. Spring 1944 is the most probable timeframe, IMHO.picture probably taken between June 43 and the allied landing in 1944.
Titan said:Now you've got me curious, though: which kind of improvement package, if I may ask...?
hear, hear!Titan said:Thank you. Spring 1944 is the most probable timeframe, IMHO.
Oh, thanks for the info. However, I guess I'll stick to the "do it yourself" rulea leader package for USA in B&W (a good one). manfred tweaked Finnland in B&W as well (at least for AoD 1.02) i'm using it and i'm more then happy with it.
Of course you may! I'd say spring 1944 judging by AH's appearance (already rather oldish - notice his gray moustache). This fits better with mid 1944 than late (or even mid) 1943.hear, hear!- thats a word!
may i ask you why?
i did not mean that you should integrate it in your mod, i just thought manfred should upload it and you should use it.Titan said:Oh, thanks for the info. However, I guess I'll stick to the "do it yourself" rule and thus won't add his (great) work into the TP.
brave, very brave LOL - ok to be serious i doubt that you (or any other person) can tell the year (or even month) just by the skin tone or hair colour - these things dont change within a couple of weeks or months.Titan said:Of course you may! Ah, that's another kettle of fishi did not mean that you should integrate it in your mod, i just thought manfred should upload it and you should use it.
Let's take this quote, which refers to the end of 1944:brave, very brave LOL - ok to be serious i doubt that you (or any other person) can tell the year (or even month) just by the skin tone or hair colour - these things dont change within a couple of weeks or months.
nothing against you personally, but i'm definately not convinced![]()
Sure it is - here you go:oh, btw - comrade Titan, i saw your commie cursor in the other thread - good idea! - just is it possible for you to make a cursor out of this one?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Soviet_Guards_Order.png
Thank you! But I really think I could do it better. The only thing is that I'd have to change something in its look... let's wait for bestmajor's opinion on that.Whoa, awesome new cursor! Maybe it's time I try Ruskies for the first time...![]()

You're welcome - and ok, glad you liked it. Anyway, maybe there's still room for improving it...thats something i'll definately keep. its even better without background.
