Sorry, it's the main TRI menu screen when you first choose single player, etc. I should have said "paper pusher" instead of dork.

BTW, can you identify the little dork standing next to Hitler and the big guy on the right? I've never seen that photo published anywhere. Thanks.
Oh you mean the main screen. Don't know but Titan knows for sure - just wait until he is back.
Sorry to let the both of you down but, for strange as it might seem, I'm not omniscient  ;)

...and, re: that picture, I have absolutely no idea who those two orderlies are. I'm only able to recognize Wilhelm Keitel, whose part of the body can be seen on the far left of the picture.

By the way, should someone know the name of the two other soldiers, please ID them - same for the date (I'd say the picture had been taken in 1944 but I'm not sure).

(a LOT of aircraft views)
...

This is the first reaction I had when I saw your post, Manfred. :)

Excellent...!!! This is simply unbelievable... thank you so much for all those links, they are of invaluable importance.

A huge thanks for your contribution to my mod - I can't even stress enough how much appreciated your help is! Now, just give me some time to make the icons - it will take a while ;)

Just reinstalled AoD with CORE and TRI (thank you, Hister), and it is going well. With more icons coming, this one should stay on top of the AoD mod list for some time. Well deserved, thank you.

yes Manfred is a good searcher, i can confirm this!

Thanks Major. I am downloading your pics. I would not have wanted to meet Alfred in a trench. Looks like a big guy.

(@ Titan: just one post, i'm not hijacking your thread)

what you have to do is:

- copy the german pics in your ...AoD\gfx\interface\pics folder
- copy the CSVs from "ZZZZZ - CSVs" in the right folders and go (more gfx are at the bottom)

apologies if this is very complicated, but this is getting really big (and good). and for now i would like to have all these things separated (means difficult to install). if you have questions, additions or complaints please post here

thanks Titan, i appreciate your tolerance:) (1st and last time)

EDIT: and yes, Jacob is completely overrated, i correct this for the next version

You're welcome... I've started to work on these icons in late 2005, so you can understand my satisfaction when people show their appreciation for this pack!

Maybe :p ;)

Thanks for the ID! I guess that the Colonel will stay unnamed, though? (albeit that's of minor importance)

At least June, 1943 then. Judging by AH's rather oldish look, however, I keep thinking that the snapshot has been taken in (late?) 1944.

Would be interesting to find out.

You and Manfred have proven to be the most proficient image searchers around... I take the chance to thank the both of you again, bestmajor and manfred, for your extraordinary contribution to the Tripartite Pack - very, very appreciated!

No problem, don't worry: there's nothing for me to feel upset about! You were very kind to explicitly ask me for permission - not everyone behaves this way, you know... and, besides, could I ever be "angry" after all the help you gave me in finding aircraft/land images for this mod? :)

thanks, maybe you should ask manfred for a USA improvement package? he has a good one.

nope, no idea sorry

EDIT: about the time frame of this picture: as the person in the AHF thread mentioned:
Gen. Jacobs was awarded the Knightscross to the War Merit Cross with date of 4.June 1943 so the date of the photo would be subsequent to that date.

and Jacob was responsible for fortifications (including the "Atlantikwall"). so picture probably taken between June 43 and the allied landing in 1944.

Thanks for the tip but, as you well know, I'm in the "do it myself" phase ;) - so I'll most probably not take advantage of Manfred's work (given he would give me permission to do so, of course).

Now you've got me curious, though: which kind of improvement package, if I may ask...?

Thank you. Spring 1944 is the most probable timeframe, IMHO.

a leader package for USA in B&W (a good one). manfred tweaked Finnland in B&W as well (at least for AoD 1.02) i'm using it and i'm more then happy with it.

may i ask you why?

Oh, thanks for the info. However, I guess I'll stick to the "do it yourself" rule ;) and thus won't add his (great) work into the TP.

Of course you may! I'd say spring 1944 judging by AH's appearance (already rather oldish - notice his gray moustache). This fits better with mid 1944 than late (or even mid) 1943.

i did not mean that you should integrate it in your mod, i just thought manfred should upload it and you should use it.

brave, very brave LOL - ok to be serious i doubt that you (or any other person) can tell the year (or even month) just by the skin tone or hair colour - these things dont change within a couple of weeks or months.
nothing against you personally, but i'm definately not convinced :)

EDIT: oh, btw - comrade Titan, i saw your commie cursor in the other thread - good idea! - just is it possible for you to make a cursor out of this one?

Ah, that's another kettle of fish :) . Yes, of course, I can use it, then.

Let's take this quote, which refers to the end of 1944:

«Crossing this last high plateau of his fortunes, Hitler still radiated determination (...) to his visitors (...). But he had aged: (...) his hair was grey, and the famous moustache was snowwhite.»

Since that sentence refers to an encounter with people who had not seen AH for some months, it would seem rather odd to me to report that he had grown so much older if that process had taken a whole year (end of 1943 - end of 1944) or, even worse, a year and a half (mid 1943 - end of 1944).
Thus, I'd assume that there had been an exponential acceleration of his aging process as time went by; so, as his moustache in that snapshot is already white, and we know that the timeframe can be the first days of June at the latest, it would come natural to me to take the latest timeframe possible to put this photograph in, i.e. spring 1944.
I could be wrong, of course, but that's how I see it :) .

Sure it is - here you go:

Soviet Guards cursor

(I've to admit, however, that I'm not very satisfacted with it: the starting image, i.e. the Guards badge, is a rather difficult one to be turned into a cursor. I could try to put it on a background, since the main problem was that, like for the other cursors I've made, I put it on transparent background, and it doesn't look very good this way IMO. Tell me if it's ok for you - if not, I'll try by adding a background).

Anyway, do you know that there's a unique cursor, as well as unique sounds, for each one of the six major powers, don't you...? :) You just have to access the \Country-specific themes\ directory in your main AoD folder, then access either ENG or GER or JAP etc. subfolders, and follow the instructions in the readme; et voila ;) .

Whoa, awesome new cursor! Maybe it's time I try Ruskies for the first time... :D
Thank you! But I really think I could do it better. The only thing is that I'd have to change something in its look... let's wait for bestmajor's opinion on that. :)
