This is pretty awesome already. I started as the greek kingdom north of the black sea (Bosporan Kingdom I think) changed to elective law and revoked two counties from rebellious vassals. I only had one child, a daughter and had her educated by an exiled noble from syracuse which had appearantly been conquered by the Aetius dynasty in panormus. The plan was that she'd turn out greco roman. The game didn't get that far, because among the literally hundreds of holy wars that were declared against me and immediately ended (Kiev alone tried almost fifty times) one finally actually happened and quickly overran me.

The only bug I've encountered is the one with holy wars ending inconclusively immediately. The gameplay is already pretty enjoyable and the enormous amount of religions and cultures makes for a europe less concerned with legitimacy and bloodlines and more with force of arms.
Just as it should be imo.

I have a problem :( I horribly lagging, while the game only use 2,24 go of my 3,5 :( Any solution ?

That is a hardcoded limit on the CK2.exe that it only uses that much memory. Luckily you can bypass that!

http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...-FAQ-MEIOU-TD-Important-info-2Gb-Fix-Tutorial

It refers to EU3, but it also applies to CK2. Make sure you do this to both the CK2.exe and the ck2game.exe

I do not think it is the GPU as I myself have GeForce 9200(sad I know)

I can play this on a crappy HP tablet with integrated graphics more or less ok (not faster than 4 speed for example and the visuals lag a bit), so indeed you are correct. The game offloads calculations to the GPU as much as it can, but it is mostly CPU heavy.

After playing for about 2h I can say it was a fun experience, albeit a bit of a pushover (which I bet entirely has to do with the fact that no one could declare war on me due to the inconclusive auto end for all the holy wars declared on me). All of the complaints I would have, have to do with Vanilla CK2, not your mod :)

Are you planning on boosting culture spread early on until a certain date where cultural areas will have established themselves?

For some reason i simply cannot progress in my savegame. The game crashes at random dates so i can't really link it to a specific feature.

FEEDBACK

Played it for almost an hour and there's a staggering amount of choice. I eventually picked the Kingdom of Suevia. I have a few suggestions about cultures:
Alans should be in the Iranian group.
Vlach should be in the Latin group.
Add an East Germanic group which includes all Goths, Burgundians and Vandals.
Get rid of the Central Germanic group and move those cultures to West Germanic.
Franks should be West Germanic.
Normans could be North Germanic.
Add Frisian culture to West Germanic group.
Berbers and Dacians could be in their own respective groups.
The Caucasian Avars could be in a Caucasian group.
Of course, all of this is subject to your own alternate history.

The only bug I noticed was the Holy Wars ending inconclusively immediately. Also, there was a huge amount of Holy Wars going on; it seemed that almost everyone was engaged in at least three Holy Wars.
Apart from that, great mod so far!

Thank you for your comments everyone! Sadly as I said before I am very busy with real life till most likely Monday and about 800km from home... so while I hope to be able to read this thread from time to time I might be very silent till I return home... All feedback is greatly appreciated and I will look into issues when I go home...I am unsure about that holy war bug - very strange, will make it a priority to see what that's about - I want to change the holy war system in the future in any case.

I maybe should not have released this before I left, but I wanted to keep my promise and release something this week, and I thought it to be playable although I had not finished a gazillion things I wanted to do for 0.1a (that's why I didn't call this release that way) -and this hasn't been tested under the new patch. There's also the fact that I didn't implement some stuff for this public version that was already in my mod and thus was changing its dynamics- I have quite a lot of military related stuff and buildings that I did not implement...the few buildings that made it in shouldn't have made it in either but I ran out of time to clean up the files properly and I thought those would not hurt in anycase.

-On performance issues use the 2gigs fix (if you have 4gigs) see how in the BLC thread first post.

I am sorry I don't have time to answer specific posts right now,(I have to go) but rest assured I will get to reading everything in time -and when I go home set about fixing things hehe.

Ok bro let us see the situation ,I had some difficult time to choose position :p ,Europe such a messy place .Even it is an alpha version is surpsiningly playable .I have seen only one bug during the game ( 10 years ) Every war declared on me as A holy one ended inconclusivelyand unfortunately i could not retreat any savegame every time it crashes and sends me out of game  But I hope the solution will be found. As a conclusion very nice try mate i see great potential on this certainly with a bit help will be one of the best mods for CK2

Some quick thoughs before I go:

-On lag: it's the fact there's simply too much stuff for some computers I think - and the fact it uses the full version of BLC I think.(BLC is a memory hog) Older computers will struggle with everything + BLC. When I go home I will do some lag testing.
-On the holy wars issue - I have no idea what causes it atm - I welcome any thoughts on the matter - definitely the no.1 thing to fix.
-On crashes when exiting/loading etc - I've never had those...and I've exited the mod plenty of times and loaded some games...maybe I foxed up something with the public build. Again - anyone can think of anything?

@Teutonic_Thrash
I didn't get to fixing the culture groups sadly. I'm also going to consider gameplay reasons when doing the culture groups, but I think you're spot on on some of those suggestions.:D

Is anyone else CTD at year 1082? Everytime with any character, I CTD in that year. But everything is still amazing

Unfortunatly i think i have the same issue. Not 100% sure but i'll check once i reach the date with my current character.

No worries mate, take your time :) We all have a personal life and all the fixing can wait :D

Edit: Unfortunatly my game cannot progress past 1082 as Keytool said. Tried with 3 different characters now and it's the same result i'm afraid.

Don't worry, I'm quite picky when it comes to cultures/ethnicities etc. The problem with Crusader Kings (and indeed most Paradox games) is that they use two-tiered systems for cultures, eg Saxon<West Germanic, whereas they should use a three-tiered system that includes language family, eg Saxon<West Germanic (or just Germanic)<Indo-European. However I'm assuming that the current system is hard-coded.

The game gets very intresting once a few powers begin to steamroll their neighbours, I had an Arian noble dominating southern France and Germany, Imperium Romanium controling greece, the balkans and thrace and a catholic king holding on to Italy.

I have a suggestion : Maybe you could add a sort of ostrogothic culture in Croatia/Yougoslavia, and cute the de jure kingdom in two : The roman one (Illyria) and the gothic one (Ostrogothia ?) :) .

-on BLC implementation - I will look into it. I am already thinking of cutting some things out and doing a slightly different implementation that will cut on memory use.
-I might add a de jure kingdom of Ilyria - I was thinking about that one but I didn't get to it. (there's 5-6 other de jure kingdoms I want to add)
-When I go home I will look into crashes... I find them strange because I never had issues - but I admit that's prior to latest patch - I didn't get to test anything under this patch other than the fact the game booted up and ran for years on observe without crashing.

Okay Slight problems are with the holy war system, for pagans and they immediatly end, havent tested it on other religions and CTD when loading some save games.

Given that the mod is partialy Pagan-Centric it would be intresting to add some more events for them and expand on the various sects which religion heads, and possably a crusade system, at least for the Sol Invictus religion.

I started my game up again after my yearly auto-save and when I got to December 28 1081 I saved and crashed. I loaded that save and now I have a game up to 1089, without any CTD.

@Cainrae try that method and tell me if it works, might be quick fix for now

I'll give it a swing mate.
