Long time lurker, with my first comment here. I heard lurking is bad, so here goes.

I really like how you keep this AAR interesting even in the late years of the game (past 1900). Creating monster Greece is one of those things. Are you planning to sphere them? Annexing them now would be kind of counter-productive.

part 18-civil war

Due to the shore batteries that we built our fleet is now unable to enter the Dardanelles or the Bosphorus straits and so we blockade the Aegean instead.

To the north in Italian Croatia the first military battle of the war comes to an end in a minor Italian victory. The Greeks mobilize the population in an attempt to stall us while we organize our troops and despite the newly mobilized Greek threat the government refuses to mobilize.

v2_10_zps8356ff15.jpg

v2_18_zpse9e96df2.jpg

While we fight the Greek rebels the British declare war on the Chinese on the 14th of July and we notice that the Greek army has doubled in size in the last 4 months. A few days later the Soviet Union declares war on Sweden to liberate southern Finland.

On the 6th of September an attempt to liberate Zagreb by Giovanni chigi fails and the Greeks force us to retreat into Istria. And a month later a second attempt to liberate Zagreb fails with our army losing over 10,000 men in the process. v2_25_zpsdb68d7cb.jpg

Before we could engage the Greek army at karlovac the Greek armies retreat east and launch an attack against Fiume. The Greeks have proven themselves to be worthy opponents and we have received Intel that more Greek reinforcements are on their way to aid those in Fiume and Sisak. Our army force won’t be able to fight for much longer without reinforcements, but despite this the government continues to ignore the calls for mobilization and for the Venetian army to move south to aid in the fight.

You should try to surround the Greek forces. It will wipe their stack :)

Holy goodness look at those deficits.I wonder what happens if you mobilize...
Also what is the wargoal for the greeks? Is it possible for them to take regions from you?I hope you win though,i want to see your empire reunified.

yeah it is bad because i lost the balkands, i had built a huge industry there but sadly its about to be destroyed, the greeks war goal is to stay independent so basically white peace but they can add war goals if they whants. fighting a civil war like scenario is fun.

Very tough and bloody work thus far, Greece is proving a most difficult opponent. You seem to be making progress though, hopefully you will soon emerge victorious.

If you win enough warscore you should mod it to be able to restore order.

It also seems that this "Greece"also affected your funds, effectivly making you lose tons of moneys and may cause you an economical crisis
Oh anachronism :p

part 19-civil war part 2

The war continues and on the 2nd of June 1911 our armies suffer 2 small but humiliating defeats to the large Greek armies. When news reaches the government they finally listen to the call from the army and mobilize the people of northern Italy and begin organizing the troops but it will be weeks if not months before they reach the front line.

In the battle of karlovac the Greek army of 120,000 men outnumber our army by 33,000 men. Now Carlo chigi is advancing south to aid our army at karlovac with the first of the mobilized armies.

Victory is near as our forces reach the outskirts of Istanbul the same day we reach Athens. The high command decides to wait until the occupation of kirkareli is finished before we attack Athens or Istanbul.

v2_45_zpsd32f8036.jpg

After a 3 month long battle, 22000 Italian casualties and 6000 Greek casualties Athens finally falls to our troops.

v2_46_zps8a3cf25e.jpg

After 5 months, 31000 Italian casualties and 19,000 Greek casualties Istanbul finally falls and the war comes to an end.

v2_47_zps7e4593da.jpg

3 days after the fall of Istanbul the civil war comes to an official end on the 15th of May 1914 and out empire is once again united. After thousands of Italian, Greek, Bulgarian, Albanian and Bosnian deaths both sides of the empire are ready for peace and all of the minorities in the Balkans are given equal rights to that of Italians. What will come next we do not know.

v2_48_zps095e5b04.jpg

A most brutal war but thankfully Italy has emerged triumphant, restoring her near shattered Empire. Hopefully the concessions which have been offered to the rebels are sufficient to avoid a repeat of this war.

I think he should go after the French instead of that. They seem to have recovered from the previous defeat in the Great War already. AUH for now presents a nice buffer state between Italy, Germany and the Soviets. It may be a good idea, to further weaken them however - deprive them of some lands with Polish and/or Romanian cores :)
