It has come to my attention that far more powerful nations as Brazil and Japan are up for grabs :)

If I could, can I switch to Brazil? If its still possible?

If Oceania was as powerful as Brazil, i would've said no, but Brazil is essential in South America. Fine for me. You'll receive the report for Brazil this evening.

Perhaps send out reminder PMs to them if you didn't already? It's easy to forget about a thread if you didn't pay attention to it for a week or so.

And I have a question about tech trading mechanics.
What ways to trade can we use?

* Public agreements to lend research labs (assume it's OK since you did it before).

* Selling single techs?
* Secret trades handled only through PMs?
* Trading blueprint techs for components or ships? (which the recipient don't have prerequisite techs for).
* Trading components themself? (that are more advanced then the tech the recipient masters).
* The diplomatic tech sharing option in Aurora (I'm not 100% sure what it does actually).

A little update about orders: I'm missing orders from Russia (Watercress), India (Hashoosh), Brazil (the_hdk) and Turkey (deaghaidh)

Turkey will be late as said, Brazil received the stats yesterday. I have no news from Russia and India.

im doing orders right now :) so you'll get them soonish :p

I will get them done tommorow. Been busy with coursework.

I'd forbid the trading components, as giving someone components he has no knowledge on how these work...anyway you could sell the tech, or trade one tech for another, or so...

Everything you said here apart components and diplo sharing option is ok, also secret treaties you have to tell me that you did a treaty with the other country and the treaty gives you this. I'll have to know any gaming-related part, but obviously in-game as EU i'll act as i don't know about it.

But entire ships are OK even if they contain only components that the receiver has no knowledge on how they work?

If we can trade full techs why not a component with instructions how to use it and maintain it?

Personally I think it's more realistic to let you trade components or component blueprints but not full techs.

Just trying to get a picture of what you envision here.

Well, you have a point. However you can't use components that you don't know the basic tech to build on ships, because these aren't listed. This was my main motive.

Also, full techs are realistic, just think about all the agreements between NASA and ESA now...

It literally takes 2 minutes for this turns orders.

OOC: Just finished finals yesterday, will try to catch up

Orders as they stand now:

Put my only administrator as "governor of Earth"

Start building a military academy

Put all 6 labs on Transnewtonian research. Leader Ufuk Irtemçelik (Energy Weapons, 0%, 25 labs)

Not sure if this is allowed, but if it is I would like to use my "influence points" to try and get NPEs to share their labs with me in exchange for TN tech when we finish. In descending order try to get Japan, Oceania, Israel*, United Sultanate, Persia, North Africa, Canada.

*Also, if you have the chance add Israel to the "other countries" list, as I expect they will become important. I'm figuring they should have a fairly high number of labs. Bear in mind my back story includes having the Israeli-Palestinian conflict more or less settled and Turkey and Israel as mutual enemies of militant islamic radicals like Hamas and Hezbollah.

IC: The President-Padishah likes to reiterate our willingness to collaborate with any other power on researching TransNewtonian physics, on a simple basis of pooling our research capacity and sharing the results. We will host the joint research ourselves unless another partner with better personell (ie someone with a construction bonus) comes on board.

This is a golden opportunity for emerging powers like ourselves to close the tech gap! Let's be part of the future together.

OOC: Fellow have-nots, let's not let the high tech powers get a huge head start! It will take us forever to research this individually.

OOC: We can influence large nations? I thought we could only influence small nations I.E. Brazil influencing Bolivia. Like can Union nations the size of Turkey or Central Africa annex nations their size diplomatically?

IC: The South African Union is interested in Turkeys proposal.

No, it needs to be at least a third of your size, both population and industry. And even like this it takes a lot.

However, the option that Deaghaidh opened is interesting. I will allow this, but from the next turn, to be fair and open the possibility to the other players.

EDIT: I have orders from everyone, i'll start the update. Any new treaty goes in the next turn.

Sorry for the delay, i have to re-input everything inside Aurora because of a bug.

I'm switching back to 5.6 version, as the current one is way too unstable to do a game like this.
Is it the bug related with starting PDCs/missile bases getting negative population and locking the game on startup?

I had that too and just deleted the PDCs, since then I didn't have a single problem or bug which is alot less then I experienced with 5.6. So far I played 30 years of game in 6.21 and I'd say that it's with the exception of that bug much more stable.

Since the starting PDCs are just a WMD detterants mostly anyways I don't think it would be hard to simulate them on a per need basis, if they are needed something probably went very wrong anyways... :p

Well, it wasn't this as there was no negative pop. The game (dunno why) created a NPR for fun on earth. I created an empire, killed them and deleted afterwards. The game then crashed repeteadly, couldn't get it back.

Turned back to 5.6, re-inputted everything and i started playing, now everything is fine, apart the officials ofc, which are changed. I appointed the best ones for everyone, since we couldn't resend orders again, too much time.
