Creating a new unit from scratch would be the ideal work out, unfortunately, this is just a graphic mod, i'm not adding any new unit.
That said, i still think that it depends on the ship itself. For instance, i would also consider the modified Ise as a battleship, she could barely hold 10 aircrafts at her peak. But, in the case of, let's say the Yamato's
111 and 797 variants i think that they could easily host 30-40 or even 45 airplanes due to the size of the ship.
Now, if we compare the number of airplanes carried by,
HMS Unicorn (approximately 33) or
HMS Colossus (48 when she was under French command in the post war),
USS Independence (around 30) or even the more advanced
USS Saipan (50), i think that we can safely assert that these hybrid fits much better into the CVL category than in CV category.
Now, considering the circumstances and the historical facts of the WW2, i honestly think that the main weapon of those hybrid ships would be their CAG and their big guns would be used as a secondary weapon for obvious reasons.
Furthermore, these guns may be represented in the ship's own value when she has a cag attached. IE, she may has not 50 airplanes like a normal CVL 1944 would have, but, having those guns compensates for the lack of those... 20 or 25 airplanes.
And finally, some carriers of the ww2 had also conventional armament, not as effective and powerful as the main guns of a battleship, true, and, at their best they were guns more suitable for a destroyer sized ship, ok, and their purpose was merely defensive, yes, but they were there after all.
